December 25, 1973
In Grimmauld Place, several voices and much laughter is heard coming from the main dining room. In the front parlor, NARCISSA walks around by herself, holding a glass of wine. She ventures over to the piano, sitting down and playing a few chords. Suddenly, a knock is heard at the front door. NARCISSA goes to open it, revealing LUCIUS.
NARCISSA: (slightly shocked) What are you doing here?
LUCIUS: I had to see you.
NARCISSA looks at him for a moment, then silently steps aside, allowing him to enter. She closes the door.
NARCISSA: You've got a lot of courage, coming to my father's house on Christmas Day-
LUCIUS: I don't care where I had to go. I needed to apologize to you.
NARCISSA: (surprised) Go on.
LUCIUS: I lost sight of myself, okay? I let my ambitions cloud my judgement. There's just a lot going on, with Bella and everything-
NARCISSA: (sipping her wine) Bella does have a way of keeping people focused.
LUCIUS: Regardless- I'm sorry, okay? I took that curse for you to prove it. I promise to never let anything come between us again. There might not be a lot that I believe in but- but I believe in us.
NARCISSA: (smiling) You're not the only one. (She kisses him).
LUCIUS: So I hear your ambitions of becoming a Death Eater are at an end.
NARCISSA: (sighing) I don't know, Lucius. I feel as if I need to be at home. With the family.
LUCIUS: Your family will be fine no matter what, Cissy.
NARCISSA: You don't understand. Your family is small, and intact. Mine is huge and broken. After everything with Andromeda- it's just that nothing matters more to me than my family. I love you, Lucius, and I'll stand with you always. But I'd give my life to save my family, just I would for you and you would for me.
LUCIUS: You're stronger than you think, Narcissa, no matter what Bella tells you.
NARCISSA: Let's pray that's true. (She takes his hand). Come on, let's go an adventure.
LUCIUS: Where?
NARCISSA: Anywhere.
NARCISSA opens the front door again, and together she and LUCIUS step out into the snowy night and DisApparate from the front doorstep.
