March 11, 1974

In the Astronomy Tower, NARCISSA, MAFALDA, and ROSIER sit around the main archway, looking out into the night sky with a bottle of firewhiskey changing hands between them.

ROSIER: Where's Lucius tonight?

NARCISSA: He's locking himself in the library and studying for N.E.W.T.s all night long.

MAFALDA: You're not worried about them?

NARCISSA: Please. With everything that's going on, exams are the last thing on my mind.

ROSIER: (drinking for the bottle) Look at Cissy Black, being a rebel for the first time. I like it.

NARCISSA: Shut it, Rosier. (She takes the bottle from him).

MAFALDA: Anyway, did you end up meeting with your sister?

NARCISSA: Yeah.

ROSIER: You met with Bellatrix? What did she have to say, I wonder?

NARCISSA: (hesitating) I really don't even know. My sister's becoming something of a psychopath, lately.

MAFALDA: (taking the bottle) Oh, please tell.

NARCISSA: It's not a joke. I think she might be planning on attacking some Aurors in Hogsmeade.

ROSIER: Aurors? In Hogsmeade?

NARCISSA: Yeah. Dumbledore's been having them patrol the streets, and apparently You-Know-Who wants to "display his power" over them.

ROSIER: Merlin.

NARCISSA: Yeah.

MAFALDA: What are we gonna do?

NARCISSA: (taking a swig from the bottle) What do you think we should do?

MAFALDA: Well, we have to tell someone-

NARCISSA: Absolutely not. If they catch Bella, they'll throw her in jail. I can't do that to my sister.

ROSIER: Does Lucius know?

NARCISSA: Probably.

MAFALDA: Do you know when she's gonna do it?

NARCISSA: Not a clue.

ROSIER: Well, let's hope it's after the exams. I really want to ace them.

NARCISSA and MAFALDA both glance at each other and burst out laughing. NARCISSA lightly kicks ROSIER before taking the bottle from him.

NARCISSA: You're an arse, you know that?

ROSIER: So I've been told.

NARCISSA: Yeah, yeah. (sighing loudly and gazing outside) I can't believe we're gonna be leaving this place soon.

ROSIER: It'll be good for us. Trust me.

NARCISSA: I'm not so sure.
