SIRIUS: You guys ready?
JAMES: I've been ready. Remus, Peter, you good?
REMUS: Let's do it.
PETER: (breathing heavily) Okay.
Together, the four friends run through the archway between Platforms Nine and Ten. At Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, all of the wizarding families gather by the Hogwarts Express to send their children off to school. The boys' parents quickly follow them through the archway and bid farewells.
EUPHEMIA: Stay safe, love.
JAMES: I will, Mum.
HOPE: Don't do anything rash, sweetheart. And be sure to eat vegetables.
REMUS: (slightly embarrassed) Mum!
MRS. PETTIGREW: Go on, son. Have a good time.
PETER: Love you, Mum.
From the archway, DRUELLA and WALBURGA appear with NARCISSA and REGULUS.
WALBURGA: Sirius, look after Regulus, will you? Make sure he gets on board safely-
REGULUS: Mum, I'll be fine-
SIRIUS: Come on, little bro. Race you!
DRUELLA: Make good choices this term, Narcissa. You understand me?
NARCISSA: Yes, Mum.
DRUELLA: Keep in touch with Bella, all right? And focus on your studies and not that Malfoy boy- there will be time for that later-
NARCISSA: Mum!
Across the station, LILY says goodbye to her family.
MR. EVANS: We're extremely proud of you, sweetheart.
LILY: Thanks, Dad.
MRS. EVANS: Be kind to everyone, all right? And just be yourself.
LILY: I will, Mum.
LILY turns to her sister, who stands silently by their parents.
LILY: I guess this is goodbye, for now.
PETUNIA: Yeah. (She steps forward and hugs her sister) Have a good term, all right? I'll see you soon.
LILY: Thanks, Tuney. (She gathers up her trunk and hugs her parents one last time before boarding the train).
At the center of the platform, FRANK and ALICE look eyes and quickly run towards each other, embracing in a close hug.
ALICE: It's so good to see you.
FRANK: How's your summer been?
ALICE: I'll tell you on the train. Come on, let's go. (She kisses him before they make their way towards one of the entrances to the train).
Before long, the train begins to hiss steam and the engine begins to rev up. The massive scarlet train begins to move down the tracks, and the students wave goodbye to their families from the open windows as the Hogwarts Express begins its journey across the countryside.
