April 29, 1974

In the Charms classroom, a heavy silence permeates the room as the seventh-years are sitting their Charms N.E.W.T.. In the back of the room, NARCISSA lazily taps her quill against the desk, staring into space. Outside, the sun is beginning to set. Suddenly, she sees several columns of black smoke race across the sky.

NARCISSA: Oh, no.

FILIUS: (from the front of the room) Miss Black?

NARCISSA: (dazedly) Yes?

FILIUS: Is there a problem?

NARCISSA: No, I- I mean- I think I'm finished.

FILIUS: Very well. Hand it in, then.

NARCISSA levitates her paper so that it flies straight towards FILIUS'S desk.

NARCISSA: Thanks, Professor.

NARCISSA hurriedly races out of the room. In the corridors, she runs into LUCIUS and MAFALDA.

LUCIUS: There you are! How was Charms?

NARCISSA: (heavily) Never mind that. I think they're here- the Death Eaters.

MAFALDA: What?

NARCISSA: I just saw them- shooting across the sky- the black smoke-

LUCIUS: Bella's here? Who else is with her?

NARCISSA: Do you know anything about this? Think!

LUCIUS: What? Of course not!

NARCISSA: She didn't tell you anything?

MAFALDA: Narcissa, calm down. We don't know any more than you do.

NARCISSA: (taking out her wand and gazing out the archway) Okay. I think they're going down to Hogsmeade. We'd better get down there.

LUCIUS: Narcissa- this could be dangerous, maybe I should go alone-

NARCISSA: Absolutely not. It's my sister down there, Lucius. I'm going. Are you in?

LUCIUS: Yes.

MAFALDA: (nodding) Of course.

NARCISSA: Good. Let's go.

Together, the three Slytherins sprint through the entrance hall and down the grassy slopes, while the dying sun extends it's last rays over the grounds.
