On the Hogwarts grounds, the Marauders race down the slopes to where SEVERUS is walking towards Hogsmeade.

JAMES: Snape!

SEVERUS turns around and, seeing the Marauders approaching him, removes his wand and raises it.

SEVERUS: What are you lot doing here?

SIRIUS: We could ask you the same question, Snivelly.

SEVERUS: Get back up to the Castle if you know what's good for you.

JAMES: Why don't you make us, Snivelly?

SEVERUS: I should've seen this coming, Potter. It's just like you to stick your nose in things that are none of your business.

JAMES: What's going on in Hogsmeade, Snivelly? Why are you going there?

SEVERUS: Shut it, Potter. Why don't you go practice Quidditch or get Lily Evans to reject you again-

JAMES: Shut up, Snape! Expelliarmus!

SEVERUS: Stupefy!

The two spells hit each other and form a magical bond before the boys break it off, not strong enough to hold it for long. SEVERUS disregards the Marauders and continues down to Hogsmeade.

JAMES: Don't you walk away from me, Snape! Get back here and face me like a man! Quit acting like a coward!

At that moment, SEVERUS raises his wand again and unleashes a massive fiery curse upon them.

SEVERUS: DON'T-

All four Marauders are knocked to their feet by the Fiendfyre curse. A huge cloud of grey smoke surrounds them as SEVERUS walks up to JAMES and jabs his wand on the side of his neck.

SEVERUS: -CALL ME COWARD!

SEVERUS considers JAMES for a moment more before he stows away his wand and walks away from them. JAMES watches him go, but doesn't pursue him anymore.
