February 5, 1973

PANDORA: (announcing from the Quidditch stands) And they're off once again, ladies and gentlemen- Ravenclaw continues down the pitch with the Quaffle- excellent pass to Ravenclaw Chaser Nott- and he goes to shoot- blocked by Gryffindor Keeper Selwyn, with Gryffindor in possession- new Gryffindor Chaser Potter with the Quaffle, he continues down the pitch-

MARY: (screaming) Come on, Potter!

PANDORA: He goes, he goes- just missed that Bludger, he shoots- HE SCORES! Gryffindor brings the lead up 60 to 50, with Ravenclaw back in possession-

MARY: Yes! I told you he would be excellent- (she and SIRIUS high-five).

SIRIUS: That's my boy. Shoot it again, Potter!

MARLENE: Oh, quit being obnoxious, Sirius.

SIRIUS: I'm just quite excited for Gryffindor's new MVP. (He turns around to find REMUS and LILY, who are sitting close to each other near the back of the stands). Are you two even paying attention?

REMUS: Of course we are.

LILY: (smiling) Yeah, we just don't have to scream our heads off every minute and a half.

PANDORA: Ravenclaw continues with the Quaffle- oh! Deliberate hit on Gryffindor Beater Longbottom! The referee has called time-out-

ALICE: (standing up from the stands) Oh, God!

FABIAN: He's probably fine, Alice-

ALICE: I'm going down there. (She quickly makes her way from the stands down to the pitch, where FRANK is being bandaged after the Bludger hit).

MARLENE: See, this is why Quidditch is too violent for me.

MARY: I'd bet you'd be pretty good as a Beater. You can just pretend the Bludger is Sirius.

MARLENE: That's actually not a bad idea. (She mimics taking a Beater's bat to SIRIUS' head).

SIRIUS: You're hilarious.

From the field, FRANK mounts his broom once again, while ALICE stays on the ground level, looking anxious.

PANDORA: And Gryffindor Beater Longbottom enters the game and the match continues- Gryffindor now in possession-

SIRIUS: Come on, come on-

PANDORA: He's maneuvering quickly- excellent block by that Bludger, Gryffindor Beater Longbottom isn't going down without a fight- and it's Gryffindor Chaser Potter in possession once again, he's tearing down the pitch-

MARY: COME ON, POTTER!

PANDORA: He shoots- HE SCORES AGAIN! Potter brings the score up 70 - 50 with Gryffindor in the lead- and- has she got it? Yes! Gryffindor Seeker Cole has caught the Snitch! The match ends in a remarkable Gryffindor victory at 220 points to Ravenclaw's 50!

SIRIUS: Yes! (He and MARY hug before everyone retreats down to the pitch).

From the sky, the Quidditch players descend on their broomsticks. FRANK lands lightly, with ALICE sprinting towards him.

ALICE: I told you this game was too dangerous.

FRANK: (smiling, while holding up his bandaged hand) It was worth it, wasn't it?

ALICE: You idiot. (She kisses him).

MARY: (waving down JAMES) There he is!

SIRIUS: (chanting) Potter! Potter!

Soon, everyone joins in the chant, hailing JAMES as the Quidditch hero. They soon hoist him up on top of the sea of heads. JAMES cheers loudly, holding up his broom victoriously. Every member of Gryffindor House is caught in a haze of euphoria has they make their way up to the Castle.
