The Marauders Rise (II)

Epilogue: 35 Years Later

The bright afternoon sun illuminates the streets of Diagon Alley. Several patrons of the Wizarding mall walk throughout the cobblestone paths, going from store to store. Among them, ANDROMEDA and HARRY walk with TEDDY and VICTOIRE.

VICTOIRE: (grasping HARRY'S hand) Where next, Uncle Harry?

HARRY: Wherever Teddy wants to go. This is his day. (He ruffles TEDDY'S hair, who holds on to his grandmother's hand and smiles).

TEDDY: Can I get a wand, Grandma?

ANDROMEDA: (smiling) Of course you can, sweetheart. Ollivander's is right here-

The party steps into OLLIVANDER'S wand shop, which is void of any customers. OLLIVANDER glances from his office and goes out to greet them.

OLLIVANDER: Harry Potter. I was wondering when your children would be approaching Hogwarts age- (he gazes at TEDDY and smiles).

HARRY: Good to see you, Mr. Ollivander. This is my godson, Teddy Lupin.

OLLIVANDER: Lupin, eh? Good to meet you, sir. (He shakes TEDDY'S hand) And Madame Tonks, such a pleasure to see you again.

ANDROMEDA: How are you, Mr. Ollivander?

OLLIVANDER: Business is booming, can't complain. But enough about me- let's get Mr. Lupin a wand, shall we? How about a nice blackthorn-

OLLIVANDER hands a short, black wand to TEDDY, but it flies away from his grasp as soon as he touches it.

OLLIVANDER: I guess not! Blackthorn isn't for everyone, I suppose. How about a simple chestnut, dragon heartstring-

He hands another wand to TEDDY, who waves it and immediately causes a pile of books to fly off the bookshelf and onto the floor.

OLLIVANDER: (snatching the wand) No, no, definitely not!

ANDROMEDA: If I may, Mr. Ollivander, I might have a suggestion- (she removes a long wand from her robes and hands it to the wandmaker).

OLLIVANDER: (examining it) Ah, yes. Cypress and unicorn hair, twelve-and-a-half inches, reasonably flexible- this was the wand of Nymphadora Tonks.

ANDROMEDA: (smiling) Teddy's mother. If anyone is to master it again, it's him. My daughter's only son.

OLLIVANDER carefully hands the wand to TEDDY, who holds it for a few seconds. He raises the wand above his head, and causes a shower of golden sparks to rain down around him.

OLLIVANDER: Aha! A clear winner!

ANDROMEDA: Thank you for your help, Mr. Ollivander.

OLLIVANDER: Certainly, certainly- that is a very powerful wand, my boy. Use it well!

TEDDY: (admiring the wand) Thanks, Mr. Ollivander.

ANDROMEDA and HARRY make their way out of the store, while TEDDY and VICTOIRE run off down the street, staring in awe at the wand. From across the street, a middle-aged NARCISSA approaches them.

NARCISSA: Andromeda.

ANDROMEDA gazes at her sister, taken aback and not fully recognizing NARCISSA after not seeing her for so many years.

NARCISSA: I thought I would find you here, one of these days. I'm glad to see you again.

ANDROMEDA: I- I certainly am glad to see you, as well.

NARCISSA glances at HARRY, and nods curtly at him.

NARCISSA: Potter.

HARRY: Malfoy.

NARCISSA: (to ANDROMEDA) Could we- could we talk for a moment? In private?

ANDROMEDA: (anxiously) Why?

NARCISSA: There's just some things I need to tell you. Once.

ANDROMEDA glances at HARRY, who nods politely.

HARRY: Go ahead. I can watch the kids.

ANDROMEDA: Are you absolutely sure-?

HARRY: Of course, go on. Your sister needs you now.

ANDROMEDA nods, and walks with NARCISSA down the streets of Diagon Alley. HARRY watches the two sisters walk away before he chases after TEDDY and VICTOIRE.

HARRY: What are you kids up to?

TEDDY: This is so cool! (He waves the wand above his head again, while VICTOIRE stares at him in amazement).

HARRY: Alright, let's not poke someone's eye out with that thing. Who wants ice cream?

TEDDY: Me!

VICTOIRE: I do, I do!

HARRY smiles as he leads the two children towards FLOREAN FORTESCUE'S, holding their hands and laughing in the bright, golden sunlight. Together, they step into the ice cream shop while the door closes quietly behind them.
