Day 1- Sunday
"Wha...what ha...happened?" I asked. But then I looked around. I was in my house, it was 11:12am, but there was no one around.
So I got up and went to the kitchen and yelled "Mom? Dad? Anyone?" ...no answer. I went outside and yelled that over again... still no answer.
Then I decided to bike to the park --There's no snow anymore because of Global Warming--. When I got my bike out, I heard no traffic, and we live on a highway. Bizarre.
I headed to the store to see if any cars were on the roads...none.
I went to the park and on my way up the little hill, I scanned the windows of houses to see if I could catch a glimpse of any movement... nothing, none.
Then when I turned my head to look forward again, CRASH!! I opened my eyes and I was on the ground. The only person I'd seen all morning, it was...*GASP*!
"Riley!" I said shocked.
"Lindsay?" He asked. "You're the only person I've seen all morning!"
"I haven't seen anyone else either!" I commented.
"Last night, d...did you feel it? The Earth tremble?” I told him, “I hit my head off a wall and got knocked out at the exact point in time when the countdown hit 0."
He had a surprised look on his face. "Me too!" he replied, "I hit my head on a desk and I heard 0 and blacked out. I can’t find any of my family but I was the only one out of my siblings at home, my brothers were at friends’ houses."
"Then let’s go look for more people." I suggested because there was an awkward silence between us.
We biked together down the road yelling for people...no answers.
"Maybe I should go this way and you go that way." Riley offered, pointing when we came to fork in the road. "And we'll meet back here when we're done." I nodded in agreement.
