That night
"We had better get to sleep, its about 11:45pm" I informed Riley.
"Alright, where will I sleep?" He questioned.
"Either you can sleep in a bed upstairs or on one of the couches downstairs, whichever you prefer." I replied.
"I think I'll just sleep down here." he said.
"Ok, I'll bring you down a blanket."
"Thanks Lindsay."
"Maybe tomorrow we should look for more people." I suggested after getting him a blanket.
"Ya, but what would we do if we found anyone?" he pondered.
"I'd say we ask them if they blacked out at 0" I suggested.
"And if they did, then maybe only people whom that happened to would be alive. Man, I hope my brothers are okay." Riley said to me.
I had never thought about that before. What if everyone else was dead? What if...?
Day 2- Monday
A few hours later, I came downstairs with a thought. I sat on the couch at Riley’s feet and shook him awake.
"Riley. Riley. Riley wake up." I said as I shook his shoulder.
"What?" he said confused and sleepily as he popped up quickly.
"I had a thought…what if no one else is here?" I asked nervously.
"In San Dally? " he answered me with a question, rubbing his eyes.
"No, in the world."
"I never thought of that. What would we do?" asked Riley, curiously, sitting up more.
"I mean, there's only so much food in this town. And all the other towns are too far away for us to walk or bike to. Also we can't drive because neither of us have our licenses!" He said quickly because he was fully awake and interested now.
“Riley calm down,” I said as he got nervous, “but I do wonder what we would do." I said calm but scared.
"We'll figure something out." Riley said comfortingly. "I just hope we can survive."
