She eyed the card that sat on had been sitting on her dresser for now three days as she buttoned up her white collar shirt. She had put his number in her phone but she didn't plan on calling him anytime soon or ever really.
"Are you ready?" Laura asked knocking on the door as Adele slid on her black tights.
"Almost," she said as she reached for the small golden necklace with a pink rose charm.
"Hurry Naomi is there already," Laura said knocking one last time.
"Can you help me out with my necklace?" she asked opening the door motioning the necklace to Laura.
***"Another one!"Laura chanted with Naomi.
Adele put the glass up before putting it against her lips and consuming the clear substance.
She shook her head as it burned her throat before she smiled at both Laura and Naomi.
"Man we are a bad influence," Naomi said as she shook her head.
"She likes it anyway, don't worry," Laura says as she hands her friend another shot.
"I need to piss," Adele says as she gets up from the table before burping.
"We'll be here, go ahead babe," Laura says as she walks away from the table and stumbles into the hallway.
She stands against the wall in line before taking out her phone and going through her contacts. She smiles as she stumbles across Simon's contact number and bites her bottom lip as she presses messages. She begins typing before deleting what she had typed, which just included a simple greeting, and instead called his cell.
"Adele?" Simon answered as he tapped his blue pen on the wooden table he was seated at.
"Oh hey Simon, why did you call me?" she laughed as she moved forward in the line.
"I didn't call you, you called me," he said as he put he pen down onto his MacBook.
"Well I'm sorry I'm not perfect, Mr. Fancy pants," she burped before laughing.
Simon stayed silent on the other side of the line before sighing.
"Adele are you drunk?" he asked.
"Maybe," she said as a smile stretched across her face.
"Adele," he sighed.
"What? I'm fine," she hiccuped.
"Where are you?" he asked.
"No where of your concern Konecki," she snapped before cackling.
"I'm sending Taylor to go get you," he sighed.
"What? Why? Who's that?" she asked.
"Or would you rather I go pick you up Adkins?" he asked.
"I-I'm with Laura!" she said.
"I wouldn't care if you were with Beyoncé, I'm going to pick you up," he says.
"What! Why?" she shouts.
"Hang up the phone Adkins," he says.
"Fine," she says before clicking the end call button.
Her turn comes to go to the restroom before she heads out of the bar.
"Hey, you seem a bit cold there let me help you out," a guy says behind her.
"Simon?" she asks as he puts his jacket around her tightening it.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"I'm totally fi-," she says before she feels something warm burst out of her mouth.
"Oh god," Simon says as he holds her hair up as she pukes on the edge of the sidewalk.
"Taylor!" he snaps.
"Go to the corner shop, get her some medicine," he says as Taylor nods before running into the mini mart.
"I'm fine Simon, I really am," she says before wiping her mouth with the corner of her shirt.
"C'mon let's go," he says.
"I'm with Laura and-," she says before he cuts her off.
"I'll have Taylor go tell her what's going on, you're drunk," he says as he grabs her hand and leads her to the car.
She sits in the car with her head against the window as he sits on the seat next to the other door leaving an empty space between them.
He looks her up and down before shaking his head in disbelief.
