3 months later. . .

"Simon," she breathed as he parted from her plump pink lips.

The elevator of his penthouse dinged before his mother stepped out.

"Shit," he whispered before walking into the main room of the penthouse leaving Adele behind in the hallway. She shrugged before following behind him.

"Have you ate lunch already honey?" she heard his mother say as she got into the kitchen seeing Simon's mother opening the eggplant Parmesan Simon's chef had prepared for them.

"Yes I ate already mom," he sighed as he sat on the island.

"Honey—," his mother said cutting herself off as she noticed Adele walking into the kitchen.

"Mom, this is Adele, Adele this is my mom," Simon said introducing the women to each other.

"Hello, nice to meet you," Adele said extending her arms for his mom to shake.

"Nice to meet you too Adele, what are you doing here?" she asked.

"Ehm—," Adele started before Simon spoke for her.

"She's— a really good friend of mine, no need to worry mom," he sighed as he motioned for Adele to sit next to him so she did.

***

"Sorry about my mom showing up out of nowhere," Simon said as he held his windbreaker on his arms.

"It's fine, I didn't mind," she said as Simon opened the door for her and she climbed into the car.

Taylor drove them to Adele's house. When they got there Simon took her to the front door before giving her a quick peck on the lips. He gripped her arms and smiled before planting a kiss on her forehead.

"See you soon," he said letting go of her arms.

"Same goes for you," she smiled as she gripped her right arm with her left hand.

He waved goodbye at her as he got into the car. She waited for him to drive off before going inside to see Laura and Naomi closing the blinds and laughing.

"What are you two up to?" she asked hanging up her keys and purse.

"Y'all are cute," Naomi said as she headed into the kitchen.

"How was it?" Laura asked.

"It was great, he's amazing," she replied hanging up some coat Simon had bought her recently due to the cold autumn weather.

"I'm real happy for you," Laura said squeezing her hand.

"Thank you," she smiled as she walked into the kitchen where Naomi was frosting vanilla cupcakes.

"Can I put the sprinkles on them?" she asked.

"You're going to ruin them!" Laura said laughing.

"I am not," she said as she put a couple of sprinkles on the cupcake Naomi had just finished frosting.

"Yes you—," Laura said before she shoved the cupcake into her mouth causing all three of them to burst into laughter.
