"Ready? Go!" Simon excitedly shouted before she flipped the pregnancy test.
The test read negative causing their smiles to fade. It had been the third test they took that month.
"It's okay," he said reassuringly massaging her shoulders.
"Yeah, that takes time, maybe we're just rushing it?" she said.
"Yeah, I think three times a month is not okay," he said before pecking her lips.
"Can we lay in bed?" she asked.
"Of course," he said as he let her go.
He turned off the bathroom light before walking out following behind her. She pulled the sheet before climbing in and Simon climbed in after her.
He held her tightly as she snuggled into his chest. He heard her sniffle before feeling something wet against his chest. She was crying.
"Baby, don't cry," he said to her as he lifted her face up to stare into her glossy green eyes.
"Simon we've tried getting pregnant for the last three months! What the hell is wrong with us?" she asked.
"You think I don't question it everyday?" he said letting her go before standing up.
"Question what?" she asked as she furrowed her eyebrows.
"Question what we're doing every single fucking day?" he said.
"What do there to question? We were going to have a child what makes this any different?" she asked a bit angry.
"The fact that we're fucking forcing it, what we're doing isn't making love anymore, do you ever think about anyone but yourself?" he asked.
"Of course I do, I do all the fucking time, if I didn't you think I'd still be here?" she asked raising her voice before regretting what she had said once she saw Simon's expression. A mix of confusion with sadness.
"What's that supposed to mean? That you would have left me?" he asked.
"No I-," she said before he cut her off.
"I've been there for you since you lost our child, you acted like you were the only one hurt since we lost him, you think I wasn't hurt? I was scared that you would leave me, I not only quit doing things that I enjoyed for you I gave up my whole life for you, never thinking about it twice or thinking of ever leaving you for you to say this?" he said raising his voice as she just stared at him silently.
"I never acted like I was hurt because I fucking was, you didn't go through hours of pain just to find out that your child died," she said angrily as tears began to run down face.
"I was there with you the whole time, I took care of you, I gave you my everything!" he shouted.
"I gave you mine as well, I changed my whole perspective on life because of you!" she shouted.
"But you thought of leaving me, I never thought of leaving you!" He retorted.
"We're not even fucking married!" she shouted.
"And don't think we are ever getting fucking married, hope you're happy, I'm leaving," he said as he walked out of the bedroom slamming the bedroom door.
"Simon!" she shouted as she opened the door.
He opened the front door of the house before slamming it shut as she watched from the staircase. She wiped her tears as sat on the stairs staring into her hands.
At that moment she wished time travel had existed. She could go back and maybe not even say anything. Just comfortably lay in his arms.
She began sobbing at the thought that maybe he had left her forever. She got up and grabbed her phone. She called him but he never picked up.
"Simon, Babe please come home, I'm sorry, I miss you," she cried before sending the voice mail and sitting down on the floor.
Hours turned into days and days turned into weeks and Simon never called back. He didn't let her know if he was okay or not. She hadn't seen him in a bit over two weeks.
Tissues sat in about ever corner of the bedroom as she laid in bed. Her hair a mess and her eyes tired from all the days she didn't sleep. She was so used to being held in Simon's embrace as she slept, so used to being woken up by Simon placing soft kisses on the bridge of her nose and then him saying she had the worlds cutest nose before taking it between his middle and index finger and squeezing it.
She slightly smiled at the thought before hearing the doorbell ring and a loud knocking on the door. She jumped out of bed. Her first thought was maybe it was Simon. She ran downstairs as fast as possible, faster than she had ran in 8 years.
She checked the peephole to see her best friends on the other side. She was half disappointed but she was glad Laura was there. She must have been worried.
"Hey," she tried to say as casually as possible. Almost like she wasn't disappointed it wasn't Simon.
"Hey?" Laura said in an odd tone as she walked in.
"What's up?" she asked.
"Are you okay? How are you doing?" Laura asked.
"Fine, why do you ask?" she asked.
"No offense, but you look, horrible," Laura said causing Adele to laugh but Laura to stay with a serious expression on her face.
"I know, I do, I'm just going through a lot, you know," she said.
"Like what?" Laura asked.
"Simon, he left me," she said before she began sobbing.
