-3 days later-

"It's very nice of you to invite me for dinner tonight, but I'm afraid that I'm not going to be able to make it," she says before Laura punches her on the leg and she hits her back.

"We can always reschedule," he suggested as he put the thin silver device on the table and pressed speaker on the call so Daniel would be able to listen.

She laughed nervously before narrowing her eyes at Laura who smirked at her as she came to a stop at the stop lights.

"Sure, although I'll be quite busy—," she says before he cuts her off.

"When will you not be busy?" he asked.

"Let me check my calendar real quick," she said before putting the phone call on mute.

"Stop making the poor guy beg for you," Laura says.

"I'm not making him beg for me, I know what I'm doing," she replies sassily.

"Just say yes, after the graduation you could go out with him for dinner," Laura suggests.

"But I wanted to stay home and eat cake with you," she says pouting her lips.

"We'll eat some when you come back," Laura says before Adele picks up the phone again.

"Simon?" she asks as Laura smiles at her.

"Yes?" he asks.

"I'm all booked up tonight sorry," she says before Laura opens her mouth and Adele puts her hand over her mouth causing Laura to narrow her eyes at her.

"Maybe I can take you out to dinner tomorrow night?" he asked.

"I'll have to see," she said.

"No way, what is he doing here," Adele said between her teeth as walked towards Laura after the graduation ceremony. Laura stood by the car picking at her nails.

"who?" Laura asked looking around.

"Simon, the blue car over there," she said.

Laura looked over to the blue car where Simon was talking to a woman and a man. He shook their hands before the man and woman left.

"Laura let's go," she said as she grabbed Laura's hand and hurried through the parking lot.

"Why? Aren't you going to say hi to your future hubby?" Laura teased.

"Laura this is not a good time for your jokes, now please cooperate and walk faster," she said as she walked faster.

"Wait! I can't find my phone!" Laura exclaimed as she came to a sudden stop.

"Really Laura, Jesus Christ!" Adele said as she helped Laura look through her purse.

"Adele?"

Both Laura and Adele turned to see Simon walking towards them.

"Oh my god, Laura!" Adele whisper yelled as she put down Laura's purse.

"Simon? What are you doing here?" she said acting surprised to see him.

"Oh look it was in the small pocket of my purse, I'll be in the car," Laura said as she walked towards the car.

"Same goes for you, what are you doing here?" Simon asked.

"It was my graduation, but you still haven't answered my question.

"I came to my cousin's graduation," he said.

"Who's your cousin?" she asks.

"I'll tell you if you come to dinner with me," he says.

"I'm not that desperate to know, I'll get going now, I don't want to keep Laura waiting," she says.

"Right, Laura is waiting for you, I'll see you around," he said as she put her hand out for him to shake goodbye, but instead he grabbed it and gave her a quick hug.

***

"You're stupid, he likes you and you know it," Laura says as she braids Adele's hair.

"I'm not looking for a relationship, I'm only 22, let me enjoy my life, I don't need a man to be happy," she says as she lays on the bed messing up the braid Laura had made in her hair.

"Says the one who cried over a fucking nobody for over an year," Laura says remembering the time Alex had broken up with Adele and then got married 6 months after leaving her.

"Don't remind me please," she says as she sits up against the bed board.

"I'll remind you any chance I get to remind you," Laura said as she smiled at her best friend he was staring at her deep in thought.

"Whatever," she replies rolling her eyes.
