24. Home Invasion

Suddenly Calum started to lean forward. No, no, this is all happening way to fast.

I turned around, grabbed my heels that were by his door and ran right out. Without any thought of what I was doing I ran down the stairs and opened the front door. I don't know what I am doing. All I ever known to do, was to run and that's all I have ever done so that's what I am doing. Tears started streaming down my face. No, it wasn't a panic attack. This is different. I am having a break down. I stopped and looked around and realized I was only about halfway down Calum's street. I needed to keep going.

Suddenly I felt someone hand grip around my wrist which led me stumble back into them. I turned around ready to scream and there he was. He had this face of complete shock and almost looked a little hurt when he saw my tear stained face. I looked down and tried to wipe my tears but Calum lifted my chin up to face him.

"Please don't. I- I just- I...cant." I stuttered due to the tears coming down my face. He just kept on wiping my tears with his thumb.

"Just, please let me give you a ride home." He pleaded me. I nodded my head and we started to walk back to his house.

I leaned my head against the cold window of Calum's truck. The whole ride has been silent so far. I have no idea what just happened or why I allowed him to see me in that state but I am so confused.

I tried to keep my mind off of that topic and focus on something else. My eyes kept on finding themselves on Calum wrapped up arm. He was barley able to steady the steering wheel because of all the ace bandaging swallowing up his fore arm.

"You know, you didn't have to do that."I spoke up desperate to end the silence. He turned to me but I kept my eyes on his bandaged arm.

"Yes I did Kylie. I wasn't just gonna stand around and let him hurt you." He said in a strained voice.

I looked up at him and just stared at him in silence. His jaw was clenched and he looked so focused on the road but it was obvious something else was bothering him. I am just so confused. I know I have said it just about a million times but really don't know what's going on at all.

Just as I opened my mouth to say something he pulled into my drive way. I looked at him but he didn't even flinch so I slowly opened the door and hopped out of his truck. There was no point to say goodbye so I just left. I got up to my front door and remembered I don't have my keys on me but I keep a spare in the potted plat next to me. I reached in and pulled out my keys and shoved the house key in the key hole. I heard a car door slam shut and foot steps walk up behind me. I turned around and there was Calum standing in front of me.

"Calum it's Saturday don't you have things to do places to be." I said just sick of the confusion he is causing me. I want to be alone.

"No." He plainly said and walked straight into my house, leaving me still standing on my porch.

"Come in why won't you." I mumbled sarcastically and walked into my house and shut the door.

I looked around and saw Calum sitting on the couch in the living room with his feet kicked up on the coffee table.

"Go ahead make yourself comfertable. My home is your home." I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes.

"It's not like I haven't been here before." I quivered at the memories of last time he was a my house but decided to not bring it up.

"Once Calum, once." I laughed and walked into the kitchen.

I walked up to the glass doors that led to the backyard and opened it. Letting in Penny who was probably waiting for me to come home last night. She ran up to me and started licking my face. Then she heard shuffling which was probably Calum getting situated on the couch and ran into the living barking and growling loudly. I walked in after her.

"Holy shit!" Calum squealed and kicked his feet up on the couch. I started giggled at how scared he was of my little Penny, although I so sometimes call her 'The Beast'.

"Get your feet of my couch." I teased.

"And get my feet bitten off, no thanks. I was hoping to use these one day." He said not taking his eyes off of the dog.

"You are such a pussy." I laughed. "Come over here Penny!" I shouted and she snapped out of the daze she was in and walked over to me and licked my hand.

"So vicious." I said and walked up the stairs to my room. Calum got up off the couch and followed me.

"I swear that dog hates me for some reason." He said.

"Maybe she can smell your stupidity." I stated and Calum scoffed and we got in my room and sat on either side.

"Ha-ha" He said sarcastically.
