41. Bubble

I woke up to the Sydney sun beating down on my face. Just as I tried to move I felt a strong arm gripped around my waist. I looked over my shoulder to see Calum blissfully sleeping, other than the light snoring.

I smiled to myself and tiredly reach across and grabbed my phone. I turned it on to see what time it was. I squinted still trying to get used to the light.

9:00 am Monday, April 22

"Oh my shit!!!" I freaked out. Calum jerked up.

"What's wrong!?! Are you hurt??" He questioned sounding very tired. While I was having a mini heart attack.

"Calum today's Monday!!" I said in a panic.

"So?" He questioned tiredly.

"So, today's the first day back from spring break, also known as our due date for our project!!!" I tried not to shout. As soon as I said the last part Calum's face dropped.

"Holy shit!" He panicked and got up, looking a little confused. I got right up and hopped off the truck bed. Calum started to clean up the blankets.

"Calum not the time." I said softly.

"Right, right, right." He dropped every thing and closed the truck bed and hopped in the drivers seat. I got in and he shoved the keys in the ignition and we started to get going.

I flipped down the little car mirror and looked at my self. I look like a hot mess. I have total bed head hair, I don't have any of my piercings or make up on and I am currently wearing a baggy nirvana shirt tucked into some high waisted jeans with my moccasins and a large black hoodie I had with me.

"Uhhgg" I groaned. I look like shit and we don't have time to go to my house.

Calum placed his hand on my exposed thigh and started drawing circles with his thumb in a comforting way. Jesus he is so sweet.

"I looked like a turd. I can't believe I am actually going to school like this." I said sadly.

"One you don't look like a turd, I think look gorgeous as always and two you can use my sun glasses down in my glove compartment if you want." He said and I let a smile crack through.

I reached down to the glove compartment and pulled out some black ray bans and slid them on.

"Do I look as cool as you?" I asked and pulled Calum's signature pout.

".....your still a loser." He said and we both cracked up. I love that we can mess around with each other and not get all butt hurt.

"I thought I looked like a ninja." I pouted.

"Ah, I think that blue hair doesn't blend in very well." He looked over to me for a moment.

"My life is ruined." I said dramatically. Just as I did we pulled into the school parking lot.

He parked the car and turned off the engine. Just as he got out my mind remembered something. Destiny and the secret she apparently knows. If she sees me with Calum she'll tell everyone.

"Calum!?!" I called him back. He turned around and walked a few steps back to the car.

"Yeah?" He asked. My mind started to race. I don't want him to get the wrong idea.

"I-I...um...I-uh- Before we, uh, go in there. I just- I really want to stay in our little bubble for now. I not really ready for people to-uh-know. I just want to stay in our little bubble." I stuttered and Calum flashed me a smile.

He walked over to me and grabbed my hand and intertwined out fingers.

"That fine. I'll wait for you as long as I have to." He said and gave me butterfly's fluttering in my stomach. We just looked into each other eyes for one last moment.
