Alexander had told me to dress fancy tonight. I will never get over the feeling I get when he looks at me all dressed up. The look he gives me is a smile that gleams brighter then ever, violet-blue eyes sparkling a little more then usual, deeper dimples, he then suddenly becomes nervous and flustered, and lastly, he doesn't think I see but his bright red blush that spreads on his face every time he looks at me.
It takes me about an hour to fully be ready. I put on a royal blue dress that as a black lace short top over my shoulders. My hips are enhanced by the black lining squeezing them tightly. I wear black long gloves that end just above my elbows. I place my blonde hair into loose curls letting them roll down my back. I place careful makeup onto my eyes and powder my face barely, so you couldn't tell.
Alexander and I make are way out of the house leaving Phillip and Amelia alone. Although, I did over hear Amelia and Alexander talking. Amelia had stated, "I am taking Phillip out for the night we will not be home at all tonight, but be careful we don't need any more Phillips before." After that she became much quieter and I couldn't hear the rest of the conversation. I don't think much of this as Amelia has made it very clear on how we are 'missing out on a great time.' We would always laugh at her jokes but I could tell that we both become very flustered at the talk of that subject.
We finally arrive at the garden where we always go. I'm a little disappointed as I thought he was going all out for me. I'm not complaining being with him is enough for me. I don't care where we go as long as he is by my side. It would be nice to change are setting once and awhile though.
We make it over a hidden path we had discovered a few weeks ago that leads to a beautiful pond. When we make it to the pond there is a blanket carefully placed and some small snacks to chew on. I smile at his gesture and take a seat next to him.
The sun is carefully setting as we nibble on grapes. I look over at him to see he was already looking at me. Not in a weird way but in a loving way like there is nothing he would rather look at then me. I smile at him and say, "What are you staring at?"
"You," He purrs. I laugh at his comment and I say, "Well do you like what you see?" His smile widens as he starts to speak, "I love it." We fall back into a peaceful silence just staring into each others eyes.
Breaking the silence Alexander starts with, "Do you know why I brought you here?"
"No I don't," I tease.
"Think about it while I talk. Can you do that for me?" He asks.
"Of course," I simply reply with childlike smile. He smiles and laughs back.
"We have lived and loved together. Through many changing years; We have shared each other's gladness and wept each other's tears; I have known ne'er a sorrow. That was long unsoothed by thee; For thy smiles can make a summer. Where darkness else would be," He took a deep breath staring deeply into my emerald eyes with such a passion it burns.
"Like the leaves that fall around us. In autumn's fading hours, are the traitor's smiles, that darken. When the cloud of sorrow lowers; And though many such we've known, love, too prone, alas, to range, we both can speak of one love. Which time can never change," Tears start to fall down both of are faces. His words are strong and powerful they are stealing my breath.
"We have lived and loved together. Through many changing years, we have shared each other's gladness and wept each other's tears. And let us hope the future, as the past has been will be: I will share with thee my sorrows and thou thy joys with me," He finishes looking pleadingly at me as he says his last sentence, "Alaska, will you marry me?" He pulls out a small red velvet box. I don't even hesitate to declare my answer.
"Every time I say I love you... I'm really trying to say so much more then those three little words. I'm trying to say you mean more to me than anyone else in the world. I'm trying to let you know that I adore you and that I cherish the time we spend together. I'm trying to explain that I want you and that I need you and that I get lost in wonderful thoughts every time I think about you. And each time I whisper "I love you", I'm trying to remind you that you're the best thing that has ever happened to me," I take a breath before saying, "Yes I will marry you Lexi."
He slams his lips into mine passionately. His hands slowly tangles with my hair in an attempt to pull me closer but that would be impossible as I have pushed myself so far onto him we are leaning backwards. His lips slightly part and he licks my bottom lip asking for me to open mine with his. I follow his movements and he presses me down so that I am now under him. My right hand is pulling out his ponytail while the left is holding onto his collar keeping him close to me. We part for a few to breathe as we look into each others eyes with so much love that you can't mistake it for anything else. We collide again slower then before taking our time soaking in the feeling of each other. I memorize every crack or curve in his lips as he does to me. Tilting our heads to fit perfectly together like the puzzle we are. He pulls away from me then slowly kisses my forehead before he pulls me back up to sitting position.
He quickly grabs the beautiful diamond ring and carefully places it on my right ring finger. I admire the small diamond for a second before I look up to see his eyes worried.
"I am sorry for the size. I was planning on once I go into office with President Washington to buy you a bigger prettier one," He confesses. I softly kiss him then I whisper, "Don't. I love it to much to part with it." The once worried look on his face vanishes into a look of pure bliss. I know our faces match as we have never felt so blissful in our lives.
He interlocks our fingers together as we look at the dark night sky.
"Did you think about my question?" He asks.
"Yes I did," I respond.
"Do you think you know the answer," He questions.
"You always bring me here when you want to take the next step. First, was our first date. Second was later that night you told me you loved me. There are other ones I could name but look at the stars," I say as I gaze at the shining lights.
We sit in silence until I say, "I'm gonna count them."
"I can find more reasons on why I love you then you can count the stars," He quickly laughs.
So I count the stars as he counts all the features he loves about me. He starts with my smile. He then starts to count in all my small almost invisible freckles or scars.
I have a small but deep cut on my shoulder which he says was beautiful. Which I don't see as when ever I look at it I think of Noel but his promises tell me that it was characteristic and stunning.
He actually says everything was stunning about me which causes a small blush to form on my face. I gave up counting on the stars ending at 189 stars but he never stopped counting. Alexander says after all the years he has known me he has been counting. So far he has 496 things he loves about me. He promises me he will never stop counting them.
