Washington's New York house was big. A lot smaller then his house in Virginia but big. I was so grateful he agreed to let Alexander and I have our reception here.
Alexander and I were saving our money for our honeymoon so our reception was a standard poor person reception. No big party no extravagant meals just a bridal pie. A huge tradition that I found to be quiet idiotic but Alexander begged and plead for us to do it so I agreed. I hid a small ring in the pie for someone to find symbolizing how they will be the next to get married.
The pies were passed and Alexander impatiently waited for the "lucky finder" of the ring. I just sat there by he's side as he smiled widely and laughed every time someone went for a slice.
About five minutes go by until I hear Lafayette, "dommage que je sois marié." (Too bad i'm married). I look over to see Lafayette holding a small ring but not the ring I placed. I turn to Alexander and he is laughing at the fact that Lafayette got the ring.
"Alexander? Did you put a ring in?" I ask him. He stops laughing and looks at me.
"Of course I know you didn't want to so I did it for you," He kindly says.
"That's so sweet but I already did it," I said coldly. His face drops a little bit until I hear a small scream. I whip my head to see Rose holding her mouth. She spits into her hand and the my ring appears. I start to laugh as I see Lafayette become red. Ah hah fate...
"Cette chienne essaie de prendre mon mari!" (This bitch is trying to take my husband) Screamed Adrienne. I look at her and as calmly as I can I say, "Pourquoi est-ce que tu t'en préoccupes? pas comme vos commits à Lafayette." (why do you care? not like your committed to Lafayette). She glares at me and Lafayette looks sadly over to me. Rose grabs my arm and pulls me out of the room.
"Alaska! How can you say that in front of everyone!" She whispered yelled in the other room.
"Please only the four of us can speak french fluently nobody knows what I said," I say annoyed.
"Yeah but I do and Lafayette does. Don't you think it is hard enough on him. He knows she is sleeping around but they can't brake their contract!" She quietly yells again. I raise my left eyebrow.
"How do you know this? Did you two meet on the boat?" I ask her.
"Yes I did and I really like him and I think he likes me back but I know it can never be as he has kids and a wife he is a loyal man!" She said as tears started brimming in her eyes.
"Rose," I say quietly. She looks up at me as tears start to fall. I pull her into a tight embrace as she lets out a sob.
"I kissed him! Alaska I kissed him! He kissed back but then pulled away so quickly," She said though sobs.
"Rose I'm so sorry," I whisper.
"I-I just...I really like him and I don't want him to get in trouble because of me," She said weakly.
"I'm so sorry. I'll stop, okay? I'll stop and I'll let you two figure it out," I say as I pull her out of the embrace. She smiled and nodded her head.
"Now come on it's my reception! Let's get drunk!" I cheer! She laughs and wipes her tears away. I grab her hand and lead us back into the room. Everyone was staring at us. I feel Rose's hand get tighter around mine.
"Okay everything is fine! Let's just party!" I tell everyone. They all cheer and I make my way to Alexander.
"Well I think it is time to break the bread?" Alexander says as he wiggles his eyebrows.
"Sweet Jesus," I laugh as he pulls me over to the table. He grabs the loaf of bread and places it over my head. He pecks my lips then breaks the bread over my head. Everyone cheers as I feel the crumbs rumble onto me.
"Now you can get some!" Hercules yells. I laugh as I start to hear whistles and laughs from the boys.
"We can finally be together. fully," he says in a quiet whisper as he gets close to my face. He kisses me shortly but sweetly. I laugh into the kiss as he puts his hands on my waist.
"Save it for the honeymoon!" Rose yells. I laugh and break away to glare at her. She smiles sweetly and I see lafayette hide a smile. They are perfect for each other.
"Okay! Everybody let's eat," Washington announces loudly. I laugh and we all gather around the table. I sit next to Alexander and Adrienne tried to sit next to Lafayette but Lafayette moves and sits next to Rose. I smile at her red face. I grab Alexander's hand under the table and dig in to the lovely meal.
