Chapter 48: Strike

6th April, 10.50am

Kim's POV

"I love you too." I said. 

Grace looked at me with tears welling up in her eyes. At that moment, a cooling gust blew into the room. Her beautiful blond hair fluttered in the wind as she wiped her tears. 

"I'm glad. I'm so happy." She cried. 

I couldn't do anything. My arms wouldn't move. What should I do? I then placed my arms around her and pulled her into a hug. 

"I love you, Grace." I said while resting my head on her shoulder. 

Grace was shocked but she then returned my hug. I was feeling so embarrassed. My face must be as red as a tomato right now. I wish that this moment could just never end. 

Then all of a sudden,  an explosion was heard outside. I turned to the window and saw that there is an explosion in the middle of the city. Black smoke filled the air and I could hear people. screaming. 

"GRACE! IT'S AN ENEMY ATTACK!" Mark busted into the room screaming. 

He first looked at me then look at the position we are in. We are still hugging each other... Grace and I immediately released the hug and stared at Mark.

"Eh??? Sorry for interrupting." Mark smirked and softly closed the door. 

"HEY! YOU IDIOT! COME BACK!" Grace shouted at the top of her lungs. 

"There's no time for jokes Mark Banks! Come back!" I shouted. 

Mark then reentered the room.

"Jeez, I didn't know you guys are this close." He smirked. 

"Shut up!" Grace exclaimed and looked away.

"Anyway, what's happening out there Mark? It sounds like chaos out there." I said in a serious tone.

"Oh right. Yoake have attacked! The Magikill and the Archidon from that wicked group has been spotted in the city!" Mark shouted.

"But Kim, you shouldn't move just yet! You just woke up after all." Grace said in a worried tone.

I took a good look at my body. My chest and left leg is covered in bandages. I then ripped my bandages apart while Grace and Mark looked at me with their mouths wide open. My wounds were fully healed.

"Impossible, he was knocked out two days ago." Mark looked in amazement.

"Now, let's go deal with those bastards." I said.

We rushed through the halls of the royal castle. Royal Spearton infantry rushed into positions to protect the castle. 

"Hey! You all must be soldiers from the Order Empire!" A soldier pointed out.

"Yes we are, could we see Emperor Alexander?" I asked him.

"If I remember correctly, the Emperor must be at the castle gates issuing orders." He answered.

"Alright thanks. Mark go look for Ace and Elizabeth. Grace and I will meet the Emperor!" I ordered. 

Mark nodded and sprinted off.

"Come on Grace, there's no time to lose." I said and we ran towards the castle gates. 

At the castle gates, it was a , mess. Spearton soldiers hurried to the streets to calm the citizens and find the culprit. Explosions rocked the ground as if there was an earthquake. In the midst of the chaos, Emperor Alexander stood in the center, issuing orders in his battle armor. Grace and I went and met him.

"Emperor Alexander." I said while bowing my head.

"Ah, Kim Ackerman. You finally woke up I see. As you can see, we are currently facing a big problem. A Magikill has came and has wrecked the city." He said while clenching his fist in anger.

"Is the Magikill wearing a red cloak?" I asked.

"Based on the reports of my soldiers, yes she is wearing one." He said.

"Then Emperor, I believe she is from the group Yoake from the rebel forces." I said.

Just when the Emperor was about to speak, Grace then suddenly pushed him onto the ground. Just then, an arrow was shot and it could have pierced Alexander's Skull. 

"An arrow? An Archidon!" I shouted. 

Alexander then got up and regained his composure.

"I owe you one Archidon girl." He thanked Grace. 

"Men! Shield Wall! Don't let another arrow threaten our Emperor again!" A commanding officer ordered and the soldiers got into a tight shield wall. 

"Would you look at that." I said in amazement. 

"Kim catch!" A voice came from behind me.

I spun around and saw Shamballa being hurled at me. I caught it and saw Mark, Ace and Elizabeth. 

"Here you go." Elizabeth said as she gave Grace her bow and arrows. 

"Alright, Griffins. We will help support the Spearton army and kill these bastards." I said. 

"Mark, Ace and Elizabeth. You three head towards that rampaging Magikill. Grace and I will take care of that sniping Archidon." I ordered. 

"Yes Captain!" They all shouted in unison.

"Thanks Kim Ackerman, we would really appreciate your help." Alexander said. 

"It's fine, now we will help support your army. Alright team, disperse!" I shouted. 

And they all went their different way except for Grace who was waiting for me.  

"Alright, shall we?" I asked.

Having a bit of writers' block and just lazy to type out a new chapter HAHA. 

Anyways, I'm really sorry. Now I have some of my passion back, I will try to write out more chapters. I would be more active from now on!
