Chapter 30: The End Of The Swordwrath part 2

4th March 1074, 8.15pm

Night fell. It just may be the last night for the Swordwrath. Purple flames burned the city. The undead army stormed inside the city, killing every Swordwrath soldier they see. The Swordwrath are clearly unorganised and confused. Within the chaos, a brawl has started.

"Ace! I hope you are prepared to die!" Siegfried drew his sword and rushed towards the duo.

"Ace, scatter!" Kim commanded and they split up to attack Siegfried simultaneously.

Ace was hesitant to draw his sword. He was anxiously clutching the sword at his side; their other hand opening and closing in nervous energy. He was afraid, afraid of dying and killing.

"Ace! Snap out of it!" Kim shouted as he did a parry with Siegfried.

At that moment, Ace's mind became blank. He remembered his older brother back when he was a small child. Siegfried or Mordred was a kind hearted and wise. He was mature for his age and is a quick learner. But once he became a teenager, he changed. He grew darker and colder. Their father even disowned him when he one day murdered his best friend during a heated argument. Ace was still stuck in his memories when he was woken up by Kim.

"Ace! Enough! Snap out of it!" The leader shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Yes that's it! Watch as I kill your friend here Ace!" Siegfried shouted and clashed with Kim's club with monstrous strength.

Once Ace realised what just happened, he drew his sword in anger and rushed towards Siegfried.

"Foolish idiot. Rushing in alone." Siegfried said and kicked Ace in the gut while punching Kim in the face before retreating to a safe distance.

Kim and Ace recovered from that hit and stood in stance. At that moment, a humanoid figure materialised beside Siegfried.

It was a man wearing a mask with flame markings and a black cloak with short hair.  

"How's everything?" The masked man asked in a deep voice.

"I am dealing with these two idiots first." Siegfried answered back.

"Two against one? That's not fair, let me join in the fun as well." The masked man responded and took out a sword which materialised in his left hand.

"I do not need your help, but if you insist." Siegfried answered back and stood in stance.

"Ace, I'll take the masked bastard. You take your brother." Kim said.

"Alright but be careful. Something seemed off about him." Ace replied.

Kim nodded and rushed towards the masked man. They clashed and sparks from the clash could be seen.

"Who are you?" Kim asked.

The masked man did not respond and continued to attack him.

Ace on the other hand is getting cornered by Siegfried. He is on the defensive and could not look for an opening to strike Siegfried back.

'Who is this guy?' Kim thought to himself.

The fight between Kim and the masked man continued, it clearly seems that the masked man is way more skilled than Kim.

Kim tried again and again but failed to get a successful hit on the masked man. Meanwhile, the masked man is enjoying his time overpowering Kim. Kim is getting annoyed and let his anger take over him. His attacks became less predictable but sloppy.

At that moment, the masked man grazed Kim's right cheek. It is a small wound, but it left a stinging effect. But it isn't a normal stinging effect by pain. It felt like something is disrupting your body. He heard voices, people screaming in pain. The pain was unbearable, it forced Kim to his knees while holding his wound.
