I’ve gotten a couple of messages about this. Some of you are wondering if Andrew is Julian’s father. Not at all! She got pregnant with him when she was 15 and didn’t meet Andrew till she was 19. There’s no surprise that I was hiding there, lol. It’s pretty impossible for Andrew to have any relation to Julian. Sorry if there was any confusion!
Reagan POV
“Not gonna lie, son. You’ve done really well for yourself. This house of yours is nice.”
Andrew and Josh had been glaring at each other since he walked in, and I don’t think I’ve breathed once in that amount of time. To say that I was scared was an understatement; I was downright horrified. There was no doubt in my mind that a fight was going to break out, but there was also no doubt in my mind that we were going to be on the losing side of that fight. Josh didn’t have so much as a knife on him, and he expected to go against these guys? On top of that, I had no intention of leaving this closet. As much as I wanted to help Josh, I had kids that needed a mum, and I couldn’t afford to die right now. If Josh was a good a fighter as he said he was, he should be able to get out of this, right?
Even you don’t believe that.
“That’s funny”, Josh chuckled dryly, “I don’t remember sending you an invite or getting a text from you asking to come. But, I do happen to have a deadbeat fathers block on my phone, so that might be my fault.”
“Still so sarcastic. You got that from me.”
Josh’s fists balled, but Andrew didn’t seem the least bit bothered. Of course he didn’t. He had the upper hand.
“Even so, son, I didn’t need an invite. Fortunately for me, my men followed your little play-toy home earlier, and then they called me.”
Ha! So someone had been following me earlier! I was right. In hindsight, I probably should’ve mentioned that to someone. Maybe we wouldn’t be in this situation right now. It figures that Andrew made the other boys do the dirty work for him. So, he hadn’t been the one following me, it had been one of his little minions. That meant that Andrew didn’t know that I was here, and he hadn’t recognized me. Maybe I could make it out of here alive.
Maybe.
“Play-toy? I don’t know what you’re talking about. Maybe you’re referring to my maid?”
I scoffed when I heard that. I know Josh was just trying to take attention off of me, but hearing myself be referred to as the maid caught me off guard.
“Don’t lie”, Andrew snorted, “You never were very good at it.”
“Is there a reason for this unexpected and extremely unwanted father-son reunion?”
“You know, Josh, if I were you, I would keep the smart comments to a minimum. What’s stopping me from shooting you right now?”
“Obviously something because you would’ve done it by now.”
Good point. Not something I would’ve had the balls to say, but still a good point. I watched Andrew as he, never taking his eyes off of Josh, sat in the chair that I had been in only minutes before. Now, he had a better view of the closet, and I tried to focus myself on becoming invisible. It wasn’t working.
Josh turned to face his father, reluctantly taking his eyes off of the guys with guns in their hands, but he stayed close to the closet. I was thankful for that, but being closer to me wasn’t going to work in his favor.
“I asked you nicely, Josh. I asked you nicely for some money after I got fired from my job.”
“You asked me for £53 million! The fact that you had the balls to ask that is beyond me.”
