Reagan POV

“Liz, if you don’t stop running over his foot, I swear on God’s green Earth that I will put a stick through your wheels and make you sit there until I see fit.”

Liz stuck her tongue out at LJ, even though I’m sure it was meant for me, and refused to look in my direction. Ignoring her, I continued washing the dishes that they had messed up.

As much as I’d like to say differently, both Liam and Louis were still missing. The only difference is that the police refuse to look for Liam because he left voluntarily. I was starting to think that they had given up on finding Louis also because other than the fact that I would get the results on who had actually died in the fire at Josh’s house later this week, we had next to no information. I was seconds away from going out and going to look for him myself. I could obviously do a better job than all of those incompetent dicks.

Bentley was nipping at my heels as I tried to scrape at the grime that had cemented itself onto the bowls that the twins had hidden in their rooms for reasons unknown to me. They were going to start school in less than a month, and even though I was pretty positive that I would cry, I was happy for them getting out of the house. With all of the deaths, car accidents, and the disappearances in this family of ours, they needed some kind of stability in their life, something to remind them that they were somewhat normal no matter how the rest of us were.

Andrew hadn’t contacted me since my flat tire episode. I was thankful for that, but I was sure that didn’t mean anything good either. If he was quiet, that meant he was planning something. That also meant that Josh was going to die soon. Josh and I hadn’t even been together for a month yet; I didn’t need him being killed. Every second that he was over here, I tried my best to spend as much time with him as possible. I had no idea whatsoever when I was going to lose him.

And, the worst part was that he had no idea any of this was going on.

“Hello, hello.”

As if on cue, Josh walked through the doorway, loosening his tie in the process. He put his briefcase on the floor while he kicked his shoes off.

“Mr. J!”

LJ took off running towards Josh and tackled his legs. Liz was very visibly still mad at me, but she wheeled over to Josh so he could give her a hug also. Josh laughed at their matching t-shirts that read “He did it” and “She did it.”

“How are my favorite set of twins doing?”

“I doing good!” LJ answered.

“Doing ‘well’, buddy. Have you been nice for your mum?”

“Yep! Sissy hasn’t.”

Liz rolled her eyes at her tattletale brother and surprisingly had a remorseful look on her face. Maybe she didn’t purposely try to make her brother’s life hell.

“Is that true, Liz?”

Instead of answering, she just nodded. Josh winked at me before leaning down to her eye-level.

“Why haven’t you been the sweet little girl I know you can be?”

“Because. I miss Daddy.”

I didn’t really see what either scenario had to do with the other, but her answer was enough to make me cease washing dishes. Even Bentley got bored of my stagnant posture and ran upstairs to find something else to do.

“Liz, honey, I told you that your dad will be back. He just has to go out and take care of some things first. But, you know that he loves you, right?”
