Reagan POV

“Hi, Reagan, Louis, Zayn, Harry. Long time, no see, huh?”

Jesse winked at me, and my skin crawled. Louis was clenching and unclenching his fists as he just stared at us helplessly from his chair. Zayn had helped Liam get up, also trying to stop the bleeding from his head. All of the other boys just stared at the scene before us.

Harry, Louis, and Zayn definitely would remember Jesse. We spent the last few minutes of that burning house 5 years ago together. Liam had been unconscious at the time, and Niall stayed behind to help. So, they were a tad clueless as to what was going on.

“How do you know him?” Josh whispered to me, “Did you sleep with him too? Talk about a family affair.”

“I deserved that”, I responded, bitterly.

“Yeah…yeah, you did. Jesse, why are you here?”

Jesse took a step from behind Andrew and began to walk towards me. Josh, after thinking about it for a second, stepped forward to protect me. I figured I should be scared, but I really wasn’t. I think I was numb to everything that was happening right now.

“Didn’t Dad just tell you?” Jesse smirked, “I’m here to be a part of your death. He invited me personally.”

“Of course he did. He always finds ways to screw me over. It’s no surprise that you’re taking his side.”

“I’m taking his side because he’s right. You deserve to die. Look what you’ve done here.”

“What I’ve done?! This is all Andrew’s doing! He is the one who has the obsession with killing me.”

Dad didn’t do this. You do realize that the only reason that all of your friends and girlfriend will die tonight is because of you.”

Well, that’s comforting.

“Because they have you in their life, because they associate themselves with the pathetic person that is Joshua Davis, that’s why they lose their life tonight. Bit much to have on your conscience, don’t you think?”

Josh’s head sagged just a fraction, but he still managed to stand tall. It was obvious that what Jesse was saying was affecting him.

“I didn’t ask them to come”, Josh defended, “This wasn’t my decision.”

“So what? You’re putting the blame for their death on themselves? How very noble of you.”

“That’s not what I was say-.”

“Spare us”, Andrew said, “And, I’m sick of all of this talking. Let’s just end this for good.”

“Fine with me”, a shaky Josh said, “But, you have to untie Louis first. This isn’t a fair fight.”

“Who ever said that I played fair? That’s not really my style.”

I guess I wasn’t really hiding the fact that I was terrified well because after Andrew reluctantly walked over to Louis to untie him, Jesse took another step in my direction. It didn’t even phase him when Josh did everything in his power to keep him from getting closer.

“You know…you should be thanking me, Reagan”, he said to me.

“Why?”

“Because I didn’t bring Ryleigh. Trust me when I say you’ll be happy later. She isn’t too pleased with you.”

“Well, I apologize to the girl that tried to kill me 5 years ago. It’s all my fault for surviving, right?”

“I’m just saying. She has a real temper. I’d watch out if I were you.”
