Reagan POV

“Don’t mind her. She’s just being hysterical.”

Rolling my eyes at Zayn, I put my face back into my hands. There was entirely too much going on right now.

My kids were in danger, and I couldn’t be more terrified. I was dodging Josh’s phone calls scared that I was going to lose him on top of probably getting ready to lose my children also. My sister had been legally dead for 2 minutes yesterday. And, Harry was getting ready to be arrested.

Yeah. Like I said, too much is going on right now.

But, there is no easy way to explain everything. So, I’ll just start with the most important. My children have not left my sight. At all. I told Sam that I would either be able to bring them to work or I was never coming in again. I was trying to think of a flight that we could get on that would take us far away from here without Andrew knowing. There had to be something. I wouldn’t allow them to stay here.

Josh tried to speak to me after I read the text message from Andrew. He hadn’t seen the message, but the look on my face told him that what I read wasn’t good. I ignored both him and Officer Harris and hysterically ran out of the precinct. For the past 24 hours, I had refused to speak to Josh because I knew he was going to end it between us, and I wouldn’t even blame him. I just didn’t need that added drama right now with dealing with the twins and Louis.

After I finally returned Harry’s calls, he told me that Trinity had pulled a life-supporting IV out of her arm, and she fell unconscious immediately. Since she signed the DNR, the nurses weren’t allowed to revive her. Unfortunately for them, Harry wasn’t a normal person. He took it upon himself to perform CPR on Trinity, pleading for one of the nurses to help them. Just when they finally got security up there to forcibly remove Harry, Trinity’s chest began moving up and down again. Even though both Trinity and baby are recovering quite nicely right now, Harry is going to get charges pressed against him for violating a legally-bound contract.

It’s like everything that can possibly go wrong now is.

“Like I said”, the doctor began, “Mrs. Styles and her daughter are breathing again, and they’re sleeping. Her pregnancy still has the same effect on her so when she wakes up again, a decision needs to be made about the child. We can’t wait any longer.”

Before I could respond to what the doctor said, a very suave looking Carson came into my view. He had almost fully approached us before Harry stepped in front of me, trying his best to looking intimidating. Both Niall and Zayn were watching with amused looks on their faces.

“What are you doing here?” Harry spat.

“I’m one of Trinity’s emergency contacts. What are you doing here?” Carson answered without missing a beat.

“I’m her husband, you dick. Why would you still be one of her emergency contacts?”

“For Julian, duh. If something happens to him, they’ll contact me – his actual father.”

I bit my tongue at that, unsure of how a very currently unstable Harry would take that comment. Carson knew just how to rile him up.

“Some father you are”, Harry scowled.

“Don’t lie to yourself. I’m a superb father. Bad husband, boyfriend, brother, friend? Sure. But, I’m not a bad father, and you know that.”

He was right. No matter how he treated other people, Carson loved Julian more than anyone.

“Carson”, I finally cut in, “why are you here? There’s a lot going on, and we have to deal with the police and Harry right now.”

“I just told you. They contacted me because something happened to Julian’s mum. As for the police and Harry deal, I took care of it.”
