Epilogue

"Besh, ang landi ng ngiti mo dyan." Tukso ni Ella sa kaibigan nang dinalaw niya ito sa tutorial class.

Mabilis naman siyang hinampas ng kaibigan. "Pwede naman siguro kiligin besh, ano? Nag text si Kief, lunch daw kami mamaya." Laking ngiti na sabi niya.

"Ayon naman pala, may kaharutan. Pero besh happy ako na pakonti-konti nag rereach out na sa'yo ulit asawa mo. Sana talaga tuloy-tuloy na." Ella said genuinely and squeezed Alyssa's hand.

"Thank you besh, I really hope so." She dreamily answered.

"Eh 'di bilang may lunch date naman pala kayo, ako na magaadjust at ako na mageelbow ng sarili ko. Para sa pukelya, ay este sa love story niyo, supportive ako diyan. Gora na ako besh. Enjoy." Natatawang biro ni Ella sa kaibigan at nagbeso ito bago umalis.

"Gagi ka besh pero thank you sa suporta." Sigaw ni Alyssa sa paalis ng si Ella.

She was too inspired and excited that the kids felt her high energy. She played and laughed with them. Running and teasing and having the best time with them.

Kiefer was silently watching her from afar. And he can't help but feel guilty again.

He slowly walked away and went back to his office.

Alyssa kept on calling his phone but to no avail. She has been waiting for almost thirty minutes already.

She grew impatient yet worried that she decided to drive to his office.

"Good afternoon Ma'am Alyssa. Nasa loob po si Sir." Kiefer's secretary greeted.

She was about to turn the knob when she realized it was half open and could hear his voice.

"....ayoko ng masaktan pa si Alyssa...

But she couldn't recognize the voice to whom he was talking to.

"....kahit ilang babae kaya 'kong ikama."

And those words struck her the most and kept replaying on her mind.

Alyssa ran as fast as she could.

Maybe our stars were aligned but maybe not meant enough to give light and life to each other.
