【Chapter XX】

“Do you even hear yourself?” Ada stammered as she tried to compose herself from Leon who’s looking he would eat her in any minute — not in a sexual way though. She tried her best not to show any emotions and believe me, Leon has already expected that. “The whole idea is preposterous, the question itself is pathetic. Why would you ask such thing?”

Leon let out a smirk on his lips, he knew it all along that this would be Ada’s reaction. However, he’s quite surprised that Ada didn’t ditch him the moment she has ended her statement. He thought Ada would walk away like she always do yet, for what? At some point, she knew this day would certainly come and if ever she’d run away, Leon is inside her house he would doubtlessly follow her.

Leon pursed his lips as his blue eyes are cold, staring at Ada in the most horrendous glare. “I’m asking you, who is?”

Ada stared at him equally, even though she knew this day would come, she didn’t rehearse any speech if ever Leon would ask about the twins. She may be known as a riposte especially on this type of occasion, but of course she’s still processing the type or usage of words she have to say. However, what she has in mind is that she wouldn’t admit anything to Leon, it’s up to him to assume things he wants to.

“The father of my twins is none of your business, Leon.” Ada replied with finality as possible, hoping that Leon could sense the warning, and determination in her voice that she doesn’t want to talk about it.

Knowing Leon, he wouldn’t let this chance go. He knew he needed an answer from Ada and this is his chance, he wouldn’t waste it. Even though the answer is pretty obvious, he knew he has to hear it from the mother herself.

He stared at Ada’s thin and tall frame, looking at her eyes for some answers yet he couldn’t tell a thing. Her eyes are emotionless, as if she’s doing it on purpose for him not to importunate her of course. Yet, what was Leon Kennedy’s job? He’s a government agent, and he’s devoted and fierce when it comes from doing what is right. In this case, for him this is the right thing to do. After all, he has the rights towards his son and daughter. Even though Ada hasn’t admitted it yet.

Ada couldn’t help to purse her lips knowing for a fact their face are inches apart, it’s not like she doesn’t want to kiss Leon — wait what? Now is not the perfect time for thinking that. Perverted mind.

“I am their father, aren’t I?” He asked sternly, as if he’s trying to manipulate Ada. Trying to tell her that he is in control where in reality, Ada is the one who is controlling the mood and the conversation itself.

Ada let out a scoffed and rolled her eyes, “Do not tell me all this time you have been quite assuming that my twins are yours.” She crossed her arms in front of her chest.

“Isn’t that right?” Leon retorted.

With Leon being this compulsive, Ada couldn’t help but to feel anxious inside. She doesn’t even know if she would say it out of frustration to Leon in view of the fact he’s importunate, which makes Ada a bit irritated.

Ada let out a smirk and lightly pushed him away from her, using that smirk as some sort of façade for him not to ask her some questions anymore. She knew it herself if Leon would keep on persisting, she might end up telling him things she’s not yet ready to say.

“Have you been so lonely to the point if some kid looks exactly like you — you would think that the kid is yours?” Ada stated as she started making her way inside her room.
