Another Kankuro Love Story

'Retrieve' Saskue

We had been home around three weeks and then we had a message come in for help to get Saskue Uchiha back. Well I knew that was coming I thought as we talked over the mission. The mission was just for the sand trio but I insisted on going after following Kankuro around and bugging him the whole time he finally said I could go. I knew he would let me eventually.

I ran to my house and got dressed and pack a few other clothes because I knew I wouldn't return for a while. I dressed in a long sleeve black shirt with open fishnet sides. Black jeans black goth boots and a black mask. This mask went over my eyes. Practically my whole face and my hair was down. I got fed up with the mask and shoved it into my bag. I decided to carry a Katana on my back and my ninja pouches of course. I decided to where my headband in it normal place to make it look like I was purely focused on the mission.

I would take it off later. I then looked around for anything I left behind and remembered to pack Kuros food and brush so I had to reopen my bag and shoved it in. I would just carry Kuro. When I turned around my room mate was watching me. "How long have you been there?" I asked buckling my bag. "Long enough to know you don't plan on returning." I clenched my fist.

"I will return eventually. I have to fulfill my promise is all. Please don't tell Kankuro and the others I have to do this. If I don't who knows what could happen. I probably won't be coming back for a while. Depending if the village is planning on making me a rogue or not. Sorry Yumi. I don't have a choice." I tried and get past her but she stepped in front of me.

"You do and you're choosing wrong. Akemi think about your decision you're about to make. You are leaving me Temari Gaara and Kankuro. Who have been there for you sense you have been acting like a loon. So get your priorities straight. Before we decide to quit being your friends." She said I knew this was going to be a fight. "Look I am making this decision so you guys will be safe. Don't think other wise. Just wait for about four days before telling Kankuro that way he can't find me. I promise I'll be back. I just don't know when." I looked her in the eyes and she just stepped aside.

"I see there is no stopping you. So whatever....do what you want. Don't blame me of the turn out because I warned you." I nodded my throat felt like it was closing up. I walked out and sealed the room so no one would be able to get in even through the window." I sighed I felt like my heart was shutting it's self out from any emotions. So I let it continue to do so until I could feel the emotions I should be going through.

"You really couldn't expect me to stay here forever now could you? I mean my main purpose is to kill my father and help my sister now I finally think I found a way to get stronger. Don't ask me to turn my back on my family now. I won't." I told her then left my apartment key on the counter and walked out.

I ran as fast as I could to where Kankuro and his team would be when I seen him and knew I was going to have to leave I felt my heart shatter even though it was shutting emotions out it still felt as if it had shattered but I hid it. As I walked up to them I had mentally prepared my self for this. Yet it still hurt. Once we were together we headed out to help our neighboring village. We we mad it to the spot we decided to go Kankuro and I Temari by herself and Gaara by himself.

We went off looking for ways to help and we came across Kiba. Who looked half dead but we saved him. We killed his opponent and when we finished that I knew what I had to do. I walked up to Kankuro and looked at him he raised his eyebrow slightly.

"Turn and face me please." He did as he was told. I got up on my tippy toes and kissed him with as much of myself as I could muster. While I slipped a note into his stuff. He hopefully didn't suspect a thing. I pulled back and he looked a little confused. "I'm going after Naruto to help him. I...I...I love you Kankuro." I kissed him again as a goodbye. I then turned away from him. "Come on Kuro." He jumped into my arms. Kankuro grabbed ahold of my wrist and kissed me one last time.

"I know what you're planning I heard you in the ally. It's okay I wish you would have told me. I understand Akemi just be careful and return when you need to. I wish there was someway I could get ahold of you. But do what you need to help Saskue and save your family. I love you Akemi Hoshigaki." He said and I felt like crying.

"Thank you Kankuro for understanding. You may end up receiving a letter from me. One day I will return and we can be together again. You may never know. I do have to go though. Can I just have one last hug before I do?" He nodded and pulled me into him. I felt a tear slip out of my eye. I felt something warm drop onto my head I knew Kankuro had let a tear escape. I gripped his clothes hard where his chest was the  let go of him and gave him one last kiss and took off.

I didn't look back because I knew I would want to turn around and change my mind. So I forced my self to keep going. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. "Good bye Kankuro."

Before he could protest I took off. I was going after Naruto but to stop him not help him then I would follow Saskue. When I caught up to Gaara who was fighting a man that used his bones as his weapons he seemed fine so I tried to go around but the bone man stopped me.

"Let me go I am trying to help you. I told Orochimaru I would so I am now let me go. You and I both know you're going to die here and that is that now let me go so I can help." I told him hopefully Gaara didn't here. Then I spotted Lee. "No. What did you do to Lee you idiot?" I kicked him off and ran to him and seen he was still alive. I let out a sigh of relief. "Sorry Lee you'll probably hate me after this." I said and kissed his forehead. Then ran after Naruto while Gaara was fighting the man I could feel his eyes on my back once again I didn't look back because I knew better.

I ran as fast as I could. I almost dropped Kuro on the way and he meowed at me. I pulled out my mask once again and snapped it into place. Hoping Naruto was dumb enough to think it wasn't me. Kuro was a dead give away though. I didn't really care. When I came upon a familiar boy in orange I went faster. 

I caught up to him and kicked him right in the face as hard as I could. Sorry Naruto. I kept going as fast as possible. I finally caught up with the people who had Saskue. I told them what I was doing and showed them who I was and they let me continue with them. Eventually Naruto caught up with us and Saskue had to come out of the very large container and fight him.

He finally after beating Naruto to a pulp was ready to go. I looked down at my injured friend then at Sasuke.

"Did you realky have to hurt him that badly? He was your teammate and friend. I get that you need to get away but I wish you would have been easier on him." I complained to him he frowned at me. "Dont look at me like that. You knew as well as I did that I would end up coming with you." I told him sharply.

We headed to the on place I dreaded. The lair of the snake. When we made it there Orochimaru was waiting outside. What is with that creepy man always knowing when to be places. He seemed in pain though. A lot of it, it gave me a slight satisfaction to see that. He grinned a crazy grin when he seen Saskue and I walking with the rest of his team. We entered the lair. He followed close behind us. "Honestly I didn't think I would get you along with Saskue here. I am surprised you held to your word not after how you have been acting." He said and I felt the urge to punch him but didn't.

"Don't flatter youself I am only staying for a little bit. I need to make sure you don't try anything funny with Saskue before I trust you. I also want you to break this stupid link. I hate it. I am also going to train under you for the time being I need to get stronger. So I can kill my father. As much as I hate to admit it you are my only hope in getting stronger then him." I said trying to hide my anger.

"Slow down little shark. You are in no place to make demands." He backed me against a wall. I sighed and stood up straight looking him in the eyes. Then took some steps so we were face to face. "I'm not afraid of you anymore. If you can't meet my simple demands then I will leave and force Sasuke to go with me. So make your choice." I growled out at him. "Lesson one complete. If you can stare me down without fear you can do the same to Kisame. Now Saskue which would win a shark or snake?" He asked not looking at him.

"I am not sure I have never seen them battle before." Orochimaru smiled at that. He was creepy. He eventually started walking again and we all followed.
