Chapter 49

It was pitch dark in the tunnels so I held my hand up and a flame ignited in my palm then began to float above my head.

I walked ahead of them quietly picturing the map in my mind. We eventually came to where it divides into all the different lands. I quietly walked down the tunnels as my team spoke about a few things.

Kankuro came up next to me but I ignored him. "Will you please look at me?" He asked me but I continued to ignore him. I looked around and chose the correct tunnel them walked down it. "Please? I'm sorry." He pleaded and I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah I know you are. I don't have to look at you to know that." I told him and he sighed. "Then why are you still angry with me?" He asked me gently. "Kankuro you defied a direct order and you argued with me about the plan I made. Why would I not be mad?" I asked him sharply.

"I don't know because that's was friends do they forgive each other when one of them screws up?" He suggested grabbing my hands I pulled it back from his grip. "I'm sorry. I really am. Please forgive me I've behaved this whole time except earlier. Can you not just let it slide once?" He asked and I couldn't help but find his pleading and begging attractive.

I chanced one look at him and my resolve floated away. "Fine." I said and he grinned his stupid grin. "I knew you couldn't resist me for much longer." He said making me look at him.

"Don't push your luck. I've forgiven you doesn't mean I've forgotten though." I told him and the grin faltered a little. As we continued walking Kankuro took my hand making me sigh as I thought for a minute.

"Do you guys wanna take a break?" I asked and they all nodded. I pulled out a bottle of water they all sat down on the ground. They all got out water and began drinking it. I looked around then and concentrated on the sounds around me.

I listened intently then heard something I didn't recognize as and an animal or anything else. It was human whatever it was. I snuffed out the fire ball that was illuminating the area around us. I then shut up my team before they could complain. I listened carefully to the shuffling feet.

I opened my eyes as I heard it stop near us then I moved as fast as I could and blocked off the weapons that were launched at us with a wall of water. It wasn't even close to perfect but it did its job.

"Hm clever. Getting rid of the light so I can't see you but that left you blind as well. You can't see me either." A male voice purred out. I wrinkled my nose slightly. I didn't need to see to fight I only needed to be able to hear.

This site why I didn't want to come down here because now I have to protect my team because they can't fight like I can. I blocked again as more kunai were launched at us. It took me a second but I located exactly where he was.

I did quick hand signs then touched them flat to the floor. "Snake trap jutsu." Then I heard hissing and struggling. "Snake paralysis jutsu." I heard more hissing and gurgling and then I felt the man's Chakra nature go still.

I cautiously held open my palm and lit it with fire and nearly screamed as the man attacked me. He somehow got out of my snake trap. He hit me hard enough I went back a few feet and stumbled to a halt. Before I could get my balance he came at me, but I quickly ducked and he went over my head.

"What do you even want?" I asked blocking more kunai. "I want you dead because if you're dead then you can't transport my master or Talon." He said coming at me again. He didn't go after me though he went after my team.

I moved fast. So fast I couldn't even registered what I did. I tackled him backwards. He came down on top of me and then I flipped him over my head. "Hm so that's your weakness? Your friends? So all I have to do is kill them?" He questioned and I felt something snap inside me.
