Another Kankuro Love Story

chapter 9

It was a month after the crazy mission. Turns out it really was a test I apparently passed because the Kazekage rewarded me with a head band which I proudly wear on my neck. (Author:I don't really know what they are called so that is what I'm going to call it.)

I still live alone and don't really do anything. Kankuro and I have become good friends. Only currently I'm alone because he is on a mission with his team. So I am alone. I really should get a pet. Maybe I'll go look for one. I'm not really sure.

I decided to go for some walk. As I was walking along a ninja came by and said the Kazekage wanted to see me. I nodded and told him I would be there shortly. I directed my path to the Kazekage office.

~skip to the office~

I knocked and was told to enter. "Ah! Akemi perfect timing I have something to tell you." He said smiling. Recently the Kazekage has been very friendly I'm not sure why. He is usually mean to every one except me. I'm not sure why he is just friendly. "You are getting a roommate. We have thought about this for a couple of days and decided you are the best choice to give a roommate to. So it's up to you to give her a tour of the village. Also be nice to her which I don't think will be a problem she should be arriving any moment. You can wait for her outside the office." I nodded and said "Ok thanks. I have been lonely in my apartment by myself anyway. This is going to be fun. I'll be leaving now sir." I smiled at him. He waved and smiled as I left the office.

Outside I waited probably thirty minutes. Then seen a girl coming up to the office. "You must be Akemi." I nodded smiling. "I am. I'm sorry but I don't know your name they didn't give me that information." "It's Yumiko." She answered. "Well, let me show you to the apartment give you a key. Then I'll let you get settled in. Then I'll show you around if you feel like it."

She nodded and we were off. "Okay. So this is where I hid the spare key." I told her pulling it out of the hole between the door and the outside wall.

She nodded and I put it back. Then unlocked the door. I showed her to her room then left her to go fetch her key.

"Here you go." I said handing it to her with a smile. I then went to the living room and sat down waiting. After about fifteen minutes she finally came out of her room I guess she unpacked fully. I smiled at her. " You want to have a tour of the village. I'm not sure I can show you everything because I moved here a month ago. So don't hold it against me. Okay?" I said with a giggle.

She nodded and giggled too.

As we were touring the village I once again smacked into someone and fell back. "Sorry! I didn't see you there."I apologized. "Watch it. I'll kill you." I heard a monotone voice say. I knew who it was immediately. I looked up to see a red head. A boy with a black jump suit and a girl with a enormous fan on her back.

"Oh, hey Gaara! How you've been?" I said to him ruffling his hair. His siblings gasped. I look at them "What?" I asked in a confused voice. "Their scared of what I'll do to you for touching me. Mainly my sand not me." Gaara answered my question. "You won't do anything. Even if you tried I wouldn't be scared you wouldn't hurt me on purpose. Like I said I have no idea why everyone is so scared of you." I said poking his forehead lightly.

In truth he was a little scary but not enough to make you run in terror. "Hey Temari, hi Kankuro. I hope the mission went well. "Yeah like a breeze." Temari answered. "Anyway who is this? She your friend?" Kankuro asked looking behind me I felt Yumiko jump at being recognized.

"Yeah. She is my new roommate. I'm so excited we are going to be best friends. Anyway even if we were not. The Kazekage basically said I had no choice. So I guess it is good we get along so well." I told all of them. "Yumiko I'm sorry I didn't introduce you. I'm a blonde in the brain. The one with blond hair is Temari don't let her nice act fool you. She is very loud." I laughed at her reaction. "What?!"Temari yelled.

"See? Anyway moving on the red head is Gaara don't let him intimidate you he is very nice also don't expect a conversation either. Then last but not least this is Kankuro he is louder then Temari and will talk to you. He is very good at getting under people's skin. So if he bothers you just tell me I'll beat him up again." I told her.

"Wow. You are very good at summing up our annoying traits." Kankuro snapped. "Don't get me wrong they are very good people. They won't harm you you at all. They will also have your back. Right guys?" They nodded in agreeance.

"Nice to meet all you guys. I'm Yumiko Taiyo." Yumiko introduced herself. "Can you guys go ahead with out me?" Kankuro asked his siblings they nodded."You don't need to come with us. I'm pretty sure we can manage." I said confidently.

"With your sense of direction? Yeah right you likely to end up at the Leaf village or something." Kankuro smirked "Hey!"I yelled at him. "Haha don't let her fool you. She has a terrible sense of direction. Never trust her when she tells you where something it is always best ask someone else." Kankuro said with the same smirk.

Granted the smirk is kinda cute. It is still annoying I was snapped out of my train of thought when I heard a giggle. "You guys are cute." Kankuro and I looked at each other then both turned bright red and looked away from each other.

"L-Lets keep going." I said with bright red cheeks. We walked on but with Kankuro tagging along with us.

~Time skip?~

Kankuro Yumiko and I decided to have dinner together. I paid for mine and Yumiko's. I made Kankuro pay for his own. He gave a fake pout then agreed. After that he insisted on walking us home. Then he decided he was going to come in for a little bit. Then fell asleep on the couch. Yumiko thought we should wake him up.

I just said "trying to wake him up is like trying to get a bear to wake up out of hibernation." She giggled. "And besides he has stayed here before just not on the couch. But he is not aloud to whine because this is his fault. I'll just grab and extra blanket and pillow for him." I told her she nodded and went to her room.

I went and grabbed the blanket from my room. Then put it on Kankuro the lifted his head gently and put the pillow under neath it. As I was about to leave I felt something grab my wrist. "Good night." I heard a whisper. Then lightly giggled. "Good night Kankuro." He let go and I went to my room.
