Kankuro and I were on our way to the hidden leaf village now. It took a little bit of begging to get permission for the both of us. We had two and a half weeks. There and back and we had to deliver a message to the Hokage which Gaara in trusted in Kankuro because apparently it wasn't safe for someone like me who is know for running off to have it.

I rolled my eyes but didn't argue. So we set off for the hidden leaf village. The goal was to get out of the dessert before dark as for protection. Of course a sand storm had to come and bully us.

We had hunker down at a know abandoned shack thing. So we were stuck here until the storm went away. No telling how long because the storms could last for days. But as soon as there was a break we would take off again and try and get through as much dessert as we can.

"This is gross. Why of all places did we have to find this one. I would rather sleep in a garbage can." Kankuro complained. I rolled my eyes at his one hundredth complaint.

"Be quiet for heavens sake. You're getting on my nerves. Just tough it out. I'm a girl and you don't see me whining. Be a man." I said sitting on the nasty floor I found a ratty blanket and put it on the floor as a barrier between my butt and whatever was on the floor.

He gave a slight growl and sat on the blanket beside me. I tried my hardest to ignore him so close to me. He was so close I could feel his body heat. Then he reached down and laced his fingers with mine and I froze a little then slowly thawed from the slight shock.

I scooted closer to him and lay my head on his shoulder. Looking at the ground where the floor had rotted through and I built a small fire out of things in the cabin. Then I heard shuffling out side the shack and stiffened again and pick up my sword laying beside me. "Wha-" I put my hand over his mouth.

I turned to him and put a finger to my mouth. I slowly kicked dirt into the fire to put it out and listened. I heard a lot of shuffling outside the shack al ot but the Storm made it hard to hear. I couldn't tell what is was whatever it was it wasn't human. It didn't like it.

I slowly unsheathed my sword. Then a mad wolf popped up in the window and looked around in the shack. I let out a growl from my own beast and it backed away and kept going on its way to cause problems somewhere else. I sighed a little shaky and sat back down on the blanket. "That was terrifying. I am glad I'm not by myself now." I said and looked at Kankuro who looked still a little scared.

"Don't worry it is gone now. If it comes back I'll take care of it." I said and put my sword back where it belonged. I then realized he was probably scared of me.

"Well you can be scared of me all you want. It was just a growl it's not like I killed anyone. Geez Kankuro what a baby." I said and played with the strings of my jacket I had put on. He finally after a minute sat back down beside me. "I wasn't scared of you. So quit calling me a baby. I was zoned out okay? If anything I was more scared of the wolf those things don't live out here." I rolled my eyes because I knew he was trying to cover it up.

I just relit the fire and then leaned back against a moldy couch. "Don't touch that  there is no telling where that thing has been." I got tired of him whining so I got up and walked around the shack. It was bigger then expected.

It had what used to be a kitchen a bathroom and two bedrooms. The only thing is when I opened the second bedroom there was two skeletons. A husband and a wife is the best guess. I whimpered a little bit at the sight. Then noticed a journal clutched in the was I guessed to be the woman because she was smaller. I walked over and pulled the journal free. I then walked back to the 'living room'.

"What do you have there?" Kankuro asked looking at the book in my hand. "I..uh...found it. In a bedroom." I some what told the truth. "Hmmm." I opened the book some of it was too messed up to read some was fine.
