None of Yo and his friends knew what Pha and Jackson were going through. To be honest no one really cared. If anything did happen to them Forth was damn sure they deserved it, and much more. No one hurts Yo like that and gets away with it.
It's been a few weeks since Yo found out the harsh truth, and it was still a struggle at times. There were days where he'd be reminded of the times he shared with Pha and he'd start crying all over again. Times when all he would do is lock himself in his room, avoiding the world. He was lucky though, with his friends beside him, supporting him through all this, he was starting to see the light. The world didn't seem as dark anymore, he started to feel some relief. He hadn't run into Pha since that fateful day in the mall and was very grateful for that. Not that his friends would ever let Pha or Jackson near him ever again.
With Yo slowly on the mend his friends felt comfortable leaving Yo on his own for extended periods of time, especially since classes had gotten much busier with their final exams approaching. Even Yo himself was spending more time studying, but he always made sure to spend time with his friends. He knew he would be a total wreck without them and he never failed to show his gratitude towards them.
His friends, especially Ming, were happy to see Yo smiling and laughing sincerely. Happy to see Yo face each and every day with a positive attitude. The buzz of Yo and Pha's failed relationship due to Pha not being able to keep it in his pants slowly died down, which was a big help. People stopped coming up to Yo constantly, asking him if he was ok, or if he needed a shoulder to cry on he can borrow theirs. No more was he getting pity glances by people passing by. People weren't walking up to him, threatening to hurt Pha if he ever set foot near Yo. He was glad that it was all being put behind him. The daily reminders weren't making his life any easier. He constantly felt like a victim and it was eating at him, but now that the topic was moving onward he was able to feel a little at peace. Yes there was the occasional question here or there, and he'd still hear someone threaten Pha from time to time but it was decreasing day by day as people found something new to focus on.
It was early Sunday morning and Yo was getting ready. He was meeting his friends at a nearby amusement park. One of his angel gang members had agreed to pick Yo up and met the rest of the guys there. Since meeting Caleb Yo's friends have come to accept him as one of their own, especially the angel gang. Ming was still wary of him but so far he hasn't given Ming any reason not to trust him. It was such a perfect day to hang out with friends. The sun was shinning, it wasn't too hot or too cold and not a cloud in the sky threatening rain. Yo was having an amazing time, leaving his troubles behind him for now. After nearly 6 hours they decided to head to a near by restaurant for dinner before heading home, not wanting their fun to end just yet.
The days kept going by, and with the help of his friends Yo was able to start letting go of all his pain. He still had days where he felt utterly lost and empty but as time went on they were becoming fewer and further between. Yo's school work was also improving, with less time spent moping he was able to study more and even managed to get into the top 10 for his class. He was over the moon.
One day while waiting at the medical facility with Ming, Yo saw someone he was hoping to avoid, Pha. Unlike the time at the mall, Yo didn't break down into tears, instead he felt concern. Pha looked like he was beaten to a pulp, he had multiply cuts and bruises all over him and he had some trouble walking. Despite the heartache Pha had caused him, Yo couldn't help but feel sorry for him. No matter what he did, Pha didn't deserve this treatment. No one did for that matter. Before he could do or say anything Beam and Kit walked up to them and they headed off home. Once Yo got to his dorm, he freshened up then laid on his bed, thinking about how far he has come, knowing that if it was a few weeks ago and he saw Pha like that, he would struggle not to burst into tears. Partly for the pain that Pha caused him, but also partly because he couldn't bear to see him like that. He was a changed man indeed and he hopes he stays that way.
It was a positive step Caleb said when Yo called him that night explaining what he saw today. He was glad that Pha didn't completely wipe out Yo's innocent and goodhearted nature. Finding out the one you loved was cheating on you can sometimes change a person, change them into someone completely different. Luckily Yo was still himself, not fully, but he was getting there. It was a slow process but Yo was healing. Healing from all the pain and torment caused by Pha. He was finally starting to feel free, feel like his old self again.
If only Yo knew, that it wasn't over. That his new found freedom was about to be threatened once again. Yo had no idea about the storm that was heading his way but with his friends there to help him, he won't be facing it alone. He won't be heading into this blind. The truth is now in front of his eyes and he won't make the same mistake twice, no matter how hard the storm rages on.
