The nightmare was almost over for these young lads. All that was left was their recovery. Yo, Ming and Forth were still unconscious but they were on the mend. Kit didn't have too much physical damage, most of it was emotional. Beam had many cuts, burns and bruises over his body and was going to be scarred for life, but he didn't have anything that wasn't skin deep. When Kit and Beam were allowed to leave their beds they would spent most of their time with their loved ones, scared of what this could bring for them. It was 2 days later that Ming and Forth woke up and they were healing very nicely. The doctors said if they keep this up they could go home in a few days much to Kit and Beam's delight.
The first thing Ming said when he began to wake up was Kit, it was barely a whisper but Kit caught it and it melted his heart. Even after all this Ming still wanted to make sure Kit was fine, he always put Kit above himself and it made Kit feel so special and loved. Kit held onto Ming's hand squeezing lightly, reassuring Ming that he was right here and wasn't going anywhere. Ming slowly turned his head to face his Kitkat, looked deep into his tear stained eyes and softly said I love you. Kit was overcome with so much emotion that he began to cry again, holding Ming tightly, afraid to let go in case this was all a dream. He whispered I love you to Ming before planting a soft, sweet kiss on his lips. Kit then slowly pulled away staring into Ming's loved filled eyes. No matter what happens, he knew they could get through it, as long as they stood by each other. It wasn't going to be an easy feat but it would be worth it in the end he hoped.
Beam was overjoyed when Forth had woken up, especially when Forth looked at him with so much love in his eyes. Beam was scared that Forth would leave him, I mean who would stick around when you've been disfigured horrifically. It didn't matter how much Forth reassured Beam while they were held captive, once they were back in the real world his fears were re-awoken. Forth could see the look of worry spread across Beam's face, so he took hold of Beam's hand and held it tightly, staring deep into Beam's soul. He then softly but sweetly spoke "It's ok Beam. I know you're scared, worried that I'll leave you but you shouldn't be. I love you for who you are on the inside, not what you look like and honestly I still think you're the most attractive person I've ever met." He then pulled Beam down and deeply kissed him, letting the kiss portray all the emotions and love he was feeling inside. Beam started to tear up, Forth was still the same man he had fallen in love with. Only this time he got to see a new side of him and he was loving it. It would be a long journey ahead and there would be many obstacles in the way but as long as Forth and Beam held on together they could make it through anything.
It was a week before Yo had woken up, his parents had been worried sick because Yo wasn't showing any signs of improvement. While Yo was unconscious still he had to have a couple of operations, mainly to fix some of his broken bones so they would heal in the correct position. However he also had to have a knee reconstruction. Pha had done a number on Yo's legs, especially his left knee. Even with the surgery the doctors told Yo's parents he would need to use a cane the rest of his life, but other than that he would be a normal healthy young man again. A wave of relief washed over their faces and when Yo had finally woken up his parents were so happy. Yo wasn't as devastated about the cane issue he was just glad to be out from Pha's evil clutches once and for all. He didn't care where Pha was or what happens to him, just as long as he never sees him again. There was still along way to go but Yo's parents weren't giving up on their son.
Eventually Ming, Kit, Forth and Beam were able to head home, which for Ming and Forth couldn't have come any sooner. Ming couldn't wait to give Kit the engagement ring. It wasn't as special as the one he originally planned to give Kit but seeing as that ring was now lost he had no choice but to get a new one. It was kind of a rushed decision but it wasn't the ring that mattered but the person wearing it. When Kit and Ming reached home, after 2 weeks in the hospital (Kit was released a couple days after he was brought it but refused to leave Ming's side), Kit was in the kitchen trying to make dinner when Ming appeared in front of him. Ming had gotten on one knee and pulled out the small box, then opened it while asking Kit to marry him once again. Kit didn't know what to think. Part of him felt like Ming should move on, find someone not so damaged, used or broken but he knew how stubborn Ming could be and he would never let go of his Kit. "Are you sure Ming, is this what you really want? I mean look at me. What self respecting man would want someone so used, so broken like this?" Kit asked while he began to cry.
Ming then stood up, wiped away Kit's tears with his lips before saying "I love you Kit, more than anything. I have never been so sure of anything in my life. There is nothing wrong with you. Yes you went through something horrific, and it was painful to watch but that doesn't change how I feel about you. We will get through this together babe I promise." Kit was still crying, but this time tears of joy. Ming was still able to make Kit feel like the luckiest man alive and he wasn't going to let him go. Yes the next few months or even years may be hard but he wasn't going to give up just yet. Kit then looked at Ming and smiled before saying yes which made Ming's heart soar above the clouds. They were finally becoming one after all this time.
When Forth and Beam arrived home Forth quickly grabbed Beam and held him tight, not wanting to let go. Beam didn't object, being this close to the person you love, especially after all they've been through comforted him dearly. There was a part of Beam that still felt like Forth should be with someone else, someone less shattered then he was but knowing Forth he knew his lover was never letting go. Even if Beam ran away, hid himself from the world Forth would follow right behind him. It was comforting to know that he had someone who cared for him this much. They stayed in their warm embrace for quite sometime before Forth suggested they get some sleep. The next few months were going to be difficult to say the least, the upcoming battles ahead were going to test them beyond anything they had ever faced before. As long as Beam was in Forth's life, in his arms he knew they could fight these demons coming their way.
Yo was struggling more than the others, he had to endure Pha's dark and dangerous nature all alone. He didn't have the support of his loved one to help him through it. He barely spoke, ate or slept when he left the hospital, he could barely function as a normal human being. I mean who could blame him after all he had been through. His parents tried their best but Yo was slipping further and further away. They ended up having to send Yo to a mental hospital because he just wasn't coping. He had tried to kill himself twice since his escape from Pha and both times he almost died. Yo's mother didn't want to send him away but after his 2nd near miss attempt she had no choice. She wanted to save her son and right now this was the best option. Yo was there for several months before he was finally released, but his parents never left Yo alone, not even for a minute. It took time, lots of it, but slowly Yo began to heal, began to recover from his past, from his living nightmare.
