Losing The One You Love

Meeting Caleb

It had been over a week since Pha intruded into Yo's room. In fact no one has seen Pha at all, not even his fellow class mates, which was due to the fact he was in hospital after receiving his beat down from the engineering students. One week of a Pha free life was doing the world a good. For the first couple of days Yo was too scared to be left alone so someone was always with him, even at night. His friends never pressured him to open up about what he was going through, they knew he would tell them when the time was ready, and Yo thanked them for that. 

Yo had decided to go back to class. He couldn't afford to keep missing classes, even if he didn't feel like having the whole student body staring at him, talking. It was no secret about Pha and Yo, people just loved to gossip about it. The campus' 'it' couple were no more, all thanks to Pha. Yo almost had a mental breakdown on his first day back. Students kept coming up to him asking if he was ok, wondering how long Pha had been seeing Jackson behind his back, telling him if Yo needed them to get back at Pha. Yo just wanted to go to class, learn and not have to deal with the whole Pha situation right now, but no one seemed to care, except his friends. They were the ones constantly telling people to back off and give Yo some space. 

During the Pha free week Yo had spend more and more time talking to Caleb. Through texts, facebook and even phone calls. Caleb was a big help, he was able to distract Yo from all that was going on lately. Able to get Yo to smile and sometimes laugh a little, even if he went back into a sour mood right after. It was a Friday afternoon, Yo had finished class for the day and was waiting on Ming and Kit to pick him up. This whole week either Beam and Forth, Ming and Kit or one of the angel gang dropped Yo off to class and drove him back home later. He was so grateful for his friends that he often took them out for a meal before going home. 

While Yo was waiting for Ming and Kit to arrive he was messaging Caleb. Caleb had asked to meet Yo for lunch tomorrow, because he wanted to see him in person. He missed that little guy. He couldn't explain it but all he knew was he needed to protect him. Seeing him suffer like that was painful, and he knew how Yo felt since he had been through the same situation before. Yo was busy chatting with Caleb that he hadn't noticed his friends arrive. Ming wanted to call out to Yo but Kit held him back saying Yo looks deep in thought. It wasn't till Yo let out a small laugh that Kit and Ming became curious as to what he was doing.

"Hey Yo" Ming called out. Yo looked up from his phone to see Ming waving at him. "Hey Ming, Kit" Yo replied. Kit was intrigued as to who Yo was talking too. "Hey Yo, who are you messaging?" Yo didn't know what to say. He knew he could trust his friends but he wasn't sure if they would approve of Caleb, not after the Pha incident. Deciding it was for the best, I mean what if Caleb was just another Pha in waiting. He couldn't go through that again. "I'm just talking to my friend Caleb" Yo responded uneasily. Ming was surprised, as far as he knew Yo didn't know anyone with that name. "Caleb? Who is that guy Yo?" Ming asked.

 "Ummm just a guy I met Monday night, the night I found out about Pha. I was crying and heading to a hotel when I almost got hit by a car. if he hadn't of pulled me out of the way I wouldn't be here now" Yo spoke. "So then what happened? How did you two become friends so suddenly?" Kit questioned. "Well, he noticed I had been crying and asked if I wanted to go grab a cup of coffee with him. I felt like I owed him after he saved my life. We got to talking and he told me he went through the same thing. His ex cheated on him too, while he was away at university. It was nice to be able to talk to someone who understands the pain I'm going through" Yo said quietly. "After coffee, he offered to drive me home, but since I didn't want to go back to my dorm he let me stay in his guest room. He took me back to university the next morning."

Kit and Ming were shocked. Yo doesn't normally hang out with complete strangers, this was very strange. "So, you've been communicating with him all week?" Ming questioned. "Yes. Actually we were planning to meet up tomorrow for lunch" Yo said with a little smile. Ming wasn't sure if this Caleb could be trusted and didn't want Yo going alone, "Well then Kit and I are coming too." Yo was about to answer back when Kit cut in "No butts Yo. You just met the guy, for all you know he could be some crazy lunatic trying to harm you in anyway. We just want to make sure you'll be ok, and see if he's really a nice guy." Yo couldn't argue with that logic and just gave up trying. His friends were only looking out for him. Ming then texted Beam and Forth about tomorrow, both of whom readily agreed to come. 

It was 11:30am, Ming and Kit were outside Yo's room ready to pick him up for lunch. They were meeting Caleb at the mall food court. Figuring it was a safe place in case Caleb tried anything. Upon arrival they saw Beam and Forth waiting outside, along with Yo's angel gang. They had overheard the guys talking about it last night when dropping Yo home and insisted on coming along. Yo didn't know how Caleb would react to this many people, but if he was to become a part of Yo's life he had better get used to it. They had went to the sushi place in the mall and grabbed a large table. They had only sat down when Caleb had walked in, wearing tight jeans, sneakers and a white t-shirt with a denim jacket. Yo quickly called Caleb over.

 Caleb was surprised there were so many people. expecting it to just be Yo and him. When Caleb arrived at the table Yo quickly introduced everyone. "Caleb, these are my friends. Beam, Forth, Kit, Ming and the angel gang. Guys this is Caleb." Everyone was pleasantly surprised with Caleb. He wasn't what they were expecting at all.
