It has been a year since Ming, Kit, Forth, Beam and Yo were freed from their captors and life was slowly but surely getting better. This experience was going to be stuck with them the rest of their lives but they were learning how to cope with it all, so it doesn't end up taking over and destroying themselves.

Kit was barely holding on for several months, the nightmares of his rape played over in his mind, even while he was sleeping. Ming could do nothing but hold his fiance and never let go. Although they were engaged Kit was in no hurry to get married. A part of himself was still scared that Ming would leave him, but everyday Ming would reassure Kit he wasn't going anywhere. Once Ming was out of the hospital they went to therapy together, Kit didn't want to go alone so Ming gladly went with him. They suffered together and would now get through this together. A year had flown by and Kit still had these reoccurring nightmares. He would wake up screaming, scared that he was still in that hell hole only to have Ming wrap his arms around him, easing his mind softly. He would soon realise he was back home with Ming, where he truly belonged.

Throughout all this Ming and Kit never once had sex, they didn't even go pass light kissing. Kit wasn't ready to go too far with their relationship again, not after what he had been through. It worried Kit that maybe Ming would get tired of waiting and find someone else to 'play' with but Ming kept reminding Kit that he would wait forever if that's how long it took. To him, sex wasn't the end of everything. He truly loved Kit for who he was on the inside. Whether that was his cute, grumpy or even playful side. Kit was all Ming ever needed and it was the same for Kit. This experience had definitely shown each other that they were indeed soulmates. After a year Kit no longer questioned whether Ming would move on, he could see Ming would stick by his side no matter what.

Which is why he had planned, with his parents and friends, a small little wedding to surprise Ming. It was a simple yet elegant wedding, filled with so much love and happiness. Ming was over the moon at Kit's unexpected yet warmly welcomed surprise. This just proved to him even more that Kit was the right person for him. It was such a beautiful ceremony and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. They had overcome so much in this one year and had a long way to go but everyone knew they would pull through it all.

Beam and Forth struggled a lot in the first few months. Every time Beam would look at himself and see the scars laid out across his body he would burst into tears. He would shut Forth out whenever he got into a depressive episode, feeling like Forth deserved someone less damaged, less broken. Despite all this Forth never once gave up on Beam, he stood by him through everything. Constantly telling Beam that he still thought he was just as good looking and sexy as the day they met. Looks didn't matter to Forth, all that mattered was Beam's heart. As long as that beat for him he would be happy. It took a few months but slowly Beam's walls were crumbling down and he was slowly letting Forth back in. Forth had never once given up on Beam, no matter how hard things got and Beam felt he owed it to Forth.

They were tested in so many ways. Beam was too scared to leave their house, frightened that people would see him and call him a freak. He was terrified of people's reactions to him. Forth being the loving and caring husband spent most of his time with Beam, not wanting to leave him alone with his thoughts. Scared that Beam might try to hurt himself or do something much worse. No matter what was thrown at them Forth never once faulted on his love for Beam. Never once questioned about leaving him, finding someone less shattered. Beam was his everything. Without him Forth would surely die. The year had gone by and Beam was getting better. He didn't hate himself or the way he looked as much, thanks mostly due to Forth and his weekly therapy sessions. Forth dragged Beam along, telling him he needed to talk to someone and that he would be right by his side every step of the way. Beam was reluctant at first but eventually he could see the help it was bringing him. There was still many dark days ahead of them but they were slowly breaking down the walls around themselves and letting the light wash over them.

Yo was struggling with all this the most, after his last suicide attempt and his stint in the mental hospital his Father sent Yo overseas for a few months with his mother. Mr Panitchayasawad felt Yo needed to get away for awhile, clear his mind of everything that has gone by. He made sure to include Yo's therapist on the trip. Yo couldn't keep bottling up his feelings inside, it would just end up exploding out one day and who knows what would happen. Yo and his mother spent 4 months in Australia, enjoying the many sights and wonders of the great southern land.

It was down under where Yo met a boy about 3 years older than himself who had been in a similar situation. Damian was 24 and had been abused by his father for most of his childhood. They had met while Yo was out wandering the streets, looking for a nice cafe to have a nice drink at. Yo had run into the guy while using google maps to find this little cafe place the hotel staff had told him about. When Yo explained his situation Damian was more than happy to help. Yo was careful though, keeping his guard up in case something goes wrong. Over the next few months Damian and Yo became close friends, even sharing each others deepest and darkest secrets. Yo was happy that he had someone who could understand some of the pain he was going through. For the first time in almost forever Yo was smiling. It was only small but it was a sign that he was slowly pulling through all of this mess. He had never been so open with anyone before but with Damian it just felt so natural.

Damian and Yo had become such good friends that when it was time for Yo to head back home with his mother he asked Damian to come along. He wanted to introduce him to his friends and family and show him how wonderful Thailand could be. Damian was so special to him as he was to Damian. Neither one of them realised it yet, but they were two lost souls, who felt like they could never be truly loved, who had found their other half. After everything they had been through fate had given them the chance to be together, to not have to face this world alone. It wouldn't be easy but if they held on tightly it would be worth it in the end. Finally Yo had the chance at his happily ever after.
