It has been 2 weeks since the so called accident. Ming and Forth were still unconscious and looked quite terrible, tubes and wires were everywhere. They were still in the ICU but were now in a more stable condition than before. Neither one was out of the woods completely but the doctors had high hopes that these boys would pull through, which eased Beam and Kit's aching hearts.
Both Kit and Beam were luckily enough to be given a week off work, after finding out about their boyfriends condition but had to sadly go back to work. It wasn't easy but they were able to slowly get through each day. The families had all dropped by to check on the boys, breaking their hearts almost as much as it broke Kit and Beams. Yo, Ming's best friend, was devastated to see his friend in such a poor condition. They were all worried whether the boys would make it or not.
One Saturday, 2 weeks after the boys were brought in, Kit had just finished a 12 hour shift and went straight to Ming's room to check up on him, wondering if there had been any improvement. Both him and Beam spent as much time as possible in their boyfriends room, scared that this might be the last they get to see them alive. It was a frightful thought. Kit then took up his spot, sitting right next to Ming, and held his left hand softly like his life depended on it, begging Ming to wake up and tease him again. How he had missed Ming's childish behaviour, he would give anything to have Ming back in his arms where he belongs.
Kit had been sitting there for a couple of hours, lost in his own little world when suddenly Ming's hand began to move. At first Kit thought he had imagined the whole thing until moments later it happened again. Ming's hand had begun to move, ever so slightly, and soon afterwards his eyes began to open. He was slowly but surely beginning to wake up. Ming's eyes finally opened fully and he barely let out a whisper but Kit could clearly hear him call his name. It brought tears to his eyes, tears of pure joy. Kit then called out for the doctor and he came rushing in to check up on the patient. Ming still looked like shit but the fact he had now woken up was a very good sign. Kit only hoped he would bounce back to his old self in no time.
It was only a few days later, but suddenly Forth had woken up. Beam was in the middle of a shift when he heard the good news. He dropped what he was doing and rushed to his lovers side. To see the life in Forth's eyes, as he stared at his lovely Beam, made Beam smile. He was over the moon to see his beloved finally awake and on the mend. It was a trying couple of weeks and it wasn't over yet but to know Forth was awake, and more importantly remembered who Beam was, made Beam's heart fill with happiness.
During Ming and Forth's recovery Pha was stewing. He was far from happy that this little 'accident' didn't have the desired effect he was after. Of course he hid his anger and frustration well, acting like the concerned doctor he was, biding his time for now. He thought this might be a good opportunity to reach out to Yo. Convince Yo that he was just trying to reach out a helping hand, to see how he was coping with all this. He wanted to gain Yo's trust back. It wasn't going to be easy but he had hoped Yo might see that he isn't such a bad guy. That maybe one day they could go back to being friends.
It had worked rather well actually. One day after class Yo was headed to the hospital, to check on his friends, when he ran in to Pha. Pha had stopped his vehicle and offered Yo a lift. Yo didn't know what to make of this but he figured a car ride wouldn't harm anyone. While driving Pha spoke to Yo, apologising over and over again about how he had hurt him. He explained to Yo that over these few months he was able to see the truth. He admitted that he had fallen out of love with Yo, but just wasn't ready to let go, in fear of hurting him, but ending up causing even more pain. Pha had spoken about Ming and Forth, and how sad he was to hear of their accident. He may not be friends with these guys anymore but he still cared about them. Pha had even asked Yo, if one day they could go back to being friends. Claiming that he dearly missed hanging out with the gang.
Yo wasn't sure how to process all this. He was glad that Pha wasn't trying to force himself back into his life, he was giving Yo the option to choose for himself. It was a positive step in the right direction Yo thought. Maybe they could go back to being friends Yo thought to himself, Pha clearly seemed like a changed man. Clearly the time apart did wonders for him. Yo told Pha that he was sorry him and Jackson didn't work out. Although it was painful to see them together he could see they both seemed happy. Upon hearing this from Yo, Pha's heart skipped a beat. Yo was still the same kind, caring, sweet, thoughtful guy he had always been. Nothing had seemed to change.
Yo wasn't going to rush into any decisions just yet. He wanted to be absolutely sure that this wasn't just some ploy of Pha's to try and win him back. He wanted to protect his heart. Little did Yo know that all of this was just an act, was just Pha's way to worm himself back into his life. He didn't mean anything he was saying, he was just manipulating the conversation to his advantage.
A month had passed by before Ming and Forth were finally released from the hospital. They were still not 100% but it was a vast improvement from when they had first arrived. The doctors were at a lost, they couldn't believe how quickly these boys had recovered let alone that neither one had any serious, long lasting damage. Beam and Kit couldn't keep the smiles off their faces when they found out they could bring their men home. It was the day they had been waiting for since forever. After all they had been through it was nice to know everything was going smoothly. They finally felt at ease, like everything was how it should be. Neither couple could be any happier, knowing they still had each other.
