Chapter 55

Once we  left the woods, we heard a shot, which only made us run faster before we finally reached the house. Daryl, Glenn and I then headed inside to see if Rick and Shane were back and to tell the others what we had discovered. We then all walked into the living room where everyone else was before Daryl said...

"Rick and Shane ain't back?" Daryl questioned.

"No," Lori answered.

"We heard a shot," I stated.

"Maybe they found Randall," Lori suggested.

"We found him," Daryl said.

"Is he back in the shed?" Patricia asked.

"He's a walker," Daryl said.

"Did you find the walker that bit him?" Hershel asked.

"No, the weird thing is, he wasn't bit," Glenn said.

"His neck was broke," Daryl said.

"So he fought back," Patricia said.

"The thing is, Shane and Randall's tracks are right on top of each other. And Shane ain't no tracker, so he didn't come up behind him. No they were together," Daryl said.

"Would you please get back out there and fund Rick and Shane and find out what on Earth is going on?" Lori begged.

"You got it," Daryl said.

"Thank you," Lori said.

I then followed Daryl out with Glenn and Andrea before we noticed a herd of walkers coming our way.

"Oh shit," I muttered to myself.

We then got the others outside with us to show them the herd before Hershel said...

"Patricia, kill the lights," Hershel ordered in a whisper.

"I'll get the guns," Andrea said before rushing off.

"Maybe they'll just pass like the herd on the highway. Should we just go inside?" Glenn asked.

"Not unless there's a tunnel downstairs I don't know about. A herd that size will rip the house down," Daryl said.

"Carl's gone," Lori suddenly appeared in a panic.

"What?" Daryl questioned.

"He was upstairs. I can't find him," Lori said.

"Maybe he's hiding," Glenn suggested.

"He's supposed to be upstairs. I'm not leaving without my boy," Lori said.

"We're not. We're gonna look again. We're gonna find him," Carol said before rushing off with her back inside.

Seeing them leave, I began to think about Alicia and Jason before saying...

"I'm gonna go get Alicia and Jason," I said to Daryl.

"Okay," Daryl said before I headed back inside.

Once I was back inside, I rushed upstairs to Caroline's room and saw Jason sitting on the bed with Alicia before I said...

"Come on, we've got to go," I said before packing up the weapons.

"Why?, what's wrong?" Jason asked.

"Walkers. A whole herd of them. They're coming this way. I need you two to come with me now. We're gonna have to move," I said.

"Okay, let's go," Jason said before getting up and helping me pack the weapons.

"Mum, can I help? I wanna help," Alicia said.
