"We're going in thirty minutes if you want to get ready"

Alaska groans from the bed and I just chuckle, turning back to my computer

"Why can't we just stay home?"

Her voice is strained and I shake my head even though I understand the feeling of not wanting to do anything.

"Because we booked this long time ago now and remember the boys will be there. It'll be fun"

Just as I say that a text from Josh appears on my screen.

Joshua Pieters; Excited for tonight boii! See you by the boat in twenty-five.

"Since when have you become this excited to leave the flat?"

"It's karaoke, of course I'm excited"

She sighs, sitting up on the end of the bed so that she can watch what I'm doing over my shoulder.

"It's not that I'm not excited to see you sing your heart out bubbs, I'm just exhausted for some reason"

I nod, too used to that sentence by now. She'd been complaining about her tiredness for over a week now and she slept at night compared to me.

"I know. But if you want to see me tonight you need to go and get ready, we're meeting Josh and the rest down by the boats in twenty minutes"

"I thought you said thirty minutes?"

She yawns, standing up to go and find something to wear.

"And that was exactly ten minutes ago now"

I chuckle, leaning back in my chair as I wait for her to get ready, her clothes in a messy pile on the floor.

It was the way it was when she came to stay at mine and the same happened if I slept at hers for a longer period of time.

Guess we just haven't fully settled down to the point that we have separate wardrobes at each others places.

"Okay I just need to do my makeup quickly and then we can go"

Nodding do I gather the things that I need to take with me, my phone for example, before shutting my email inbox that had been open for as long as I can remember.

"You know that's my jacket?"

I point at the jean jacket that she had on, the large print on the back grabbing my attention.

"Yeah and as you aren't going to wear it tonight I thought I could"

She speaks to me through the reflection in the mirror, her legs crossed beneath her.

"And secondly does it actually look ten times better on me so I don't know why you're complaining"

Rolling my eyes do I stand up, straightening out the creases that had appeared on my trousers whilst I'd been sat down.

"You almost done?"

We started to run late, not that that was uncommon when it came to me still I hated it. The way the boys now always assume I'll be arriving later than everyone else.

"Just about baby, you can go down if you want"

I nod, throwing on a black bomber jacket, trotting down the stairs with my hands in my hair, trying my best to sort it out quickly.

It hasn't been washed in a few days and the bird's nest that now was, on the top of my head, is certainly not attractive at all.

Yet Alaska likes it, always telling me how much she enjoys my messy hair and that's the most important point, even though Jack teasing me about it is going to drive me crazy tonight.
