Conor's P.O.V
"Try changing that one up a tiny bit"
I point towards a setting on the computer as Anth controls the mouse.
Listening to the track carefully as he plays it again do I lean my head in my hand.
"Yeah that sounds better"
He nods, tapping his fingers against the table.
It was an acapella cover of Zara Larsson's track 'Never forget you' and I'd been recording the different sounds all evening to get it done for tomorrow night.
"Is that your phone?"
I turn around, grabbing my phone from the table behind us. Alaska.
"Hey"
"You alright"
My heart instantly slows down as I hear her calm soothing voice.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just working"
It's almost as I can picture her nodding her head on the other side.
"You coming home tonight or?"
She always wanted me to come home early yet now that Anth was in town that rarely happened.
"Don't think so, have quite a bit we have to get done still"
"Alright, me and Jack might go out for dinner then, if that's alright with you of course"
I chuckle, spinning in my chair.
"Oh now I'm jealous"
"Just stop it Con, we both know you don't care"
If she just knew how much I cared, because I cared a fucking lot.
"Alright, calm down. It's fine honestly, just don't do anything stupid"
"You're too funny sometimes but I'll make sure Jack doesn't get too loose"
I roll my eyes at her bad joke.
"Good good, see you tomorrow then and Als, have fun with Jack, okay?"
"I will, say hi to Anth from me by the way. I still don't understand how you guys function after all those late nights lately"
We finish the phone call and I can suddenly feel a ache in my heart, a longing for her. I wanted to hold her close and I swear her going out to dinner with my brother didn't sit as good with me as I'd manage make it come across over phone.
"Sorry bout that, just Alaska asking when we are getting home"
Anth hums a quiet answer yet instead of continuing to work on the song does he lean back in the chair, his eyes stuck on something in the distance.
"You're jealous, aren't you?"
I look at him, not sure of what to say.
"What, jealous of what?"
"She's going out with Jack tonight, isn't she?"
Nodding do I sigh. Yeah and that was what hurt so blooming much right now.
"Yeah and why would I be jealous of that, she's just my friend anyway, just as much as she's Jack's friend too"
The pain in my heart only grows as I say that because even though that was the complete truth did it still feel wrong to say it.
"Is she really though?"
He looks at me, really doubting what I just said.
"Yes, we're friends and that's how it's always been"
