I wake up by my alarm. It is 10 in the morning. I am actually proud of myself for waking up. I get in my bathroom to get ready. I put the straightener to heat up while I do my make-up. A pair on high waisted shorts that stop right above my knee and a buttoned pink shirt, I think is a good outfit choice. I finish my hair and then put on my white converse.

I knock on my brother's door to tell him that I am leaving and that I'll be in school for a theater meeting. He doesn't answer so I slowly open. He is asleep. I leave a note for him and make my wait out.

I decide to take my bike today. The weather is still pretty nice.

Sitting on a bench, I wait for Alex that arrives a couple minutes after me. He steps out of his car and comes to the bench.

"Good morning."

"Good morning. How are you?"

I ask, not being able to hide that huge smile that I have since yesterday.

"Good... You? Is everything alright?"

"I am fine. So, where are we going"

"It is a bit far. Let's put the bike in the trunk."

He stands up and I follow him. He opens the trunk and puts it inside. I didn't actually thought it would fit.

After that we get in the car and he starts driving.

"Did you tell Tom?"

"No... I don't know what to tell him."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean... I tell him that we know each other before he introduced us or...? I really don't know Alex."

"I guess we can wait to see how things will go. I don't want things between me and your brother to become awkward."

"Yeah. I agree. We should wait."

The drive was about half an hour during which we listen to music and we jammed when a song we both liked came on.

We arrived at a small diner by a lake. I've never been here before. We get out of the car and he comes by my side taking my hand, leading me inside. The place looks like those diners you see in the classic 90s movies. The staff is wearing stripped clothes and serving milkshakes with cherries and whipped cream to the few people that are there.

We choose a table by the window that has view of the lake.

"It's a really nice place. It reminds me of the camp I used to go when I was a kid."

"Me too. I grew up in Washington so I used to visit places like that only at summer camp. Did you like it?"

"Camp? I loved it. Everything about it. Especially the treasure hunts or the murder mystery games we used to play. It was my favorite part."

There is a dead silent for a couple of minutes until the waitress comes to take our order. I went for blueberry pancakes and some orange juice and Alex ordered waffles and coffee.

"You know... I was thinking about the day we met."

"What about it?"

I ask him while drinking my juice.

"I just saw you sitting there... on the stands and a thought came into my mind. Like a little voice telling me "Go talk to her". I've never..."

"You've never?"

"It has never happened to me before. Just look at a girl and go up and just start a conversation."

"Well it hasn't happened to me either. You know for someone to just come and talk to me. "
