It is finally Friday. It was a long and tiring week. All I want to do this weekend is sit back and relax because the weather is still warm and summery. I wave goodbye to Aria and Eva to seem to get perfectly along since yesterday and make my way towards my locker.
Once I open it, an envelope falls down and I quickly pick it up so no one can see it. I put in my notebook once I see it's from Alex. I think it is better If I open it at the safety of my bedroom. I walk through the parking lot to my car and I get in and start driving.
I haven't seen Alex since that day we played soccer. I don't know where he was but I just couldn't find him anywhere. Not that I asked anyone. Who would I ask?
I stop by the grocery store to pick up a few things. Mom and Dad left this morning and the last couple days they were too busy packing than buying food. I enter the store and take out of my bag a list Tom and I made on lunch break. Apparently, he will have a few friends over this weekend and he has requested a whole lot of things. I take a cart and start putting things inside. After I am done, I go and pay for them before I head to my car and star putting them carefully to the back seats. Then I get into my seat and before I start driving again, I decide to open the envelope Alex left for me.
Dear Anne,
I know you won the soccer game but I'd like to go on that date If you want too. I was thinking about breakfast on Sunday. My phone number is on the bottom of the page. Please call me when you get this. I hope with a positive answer.
Love,
Alex
I can't do anything else but smile right now. He really asked me out on a date. And I really want to go. I take my phone and start dialing his number. It is ringing a couple of times and then he picks it up.
"Hello."
I hear him say, sounding very serious.
"Hey. It's Anne. I got your letter."
"I am glad you did. And that you decided to call me. So... Will you go out with me?"
He asks me, making my smile grow even bigger that it already it.
"Yes. I'd love to. Where should we meet?"
"I haven't decided yet on the place. But I will let you know by tomorrow."
"Okay... Now I have to go. I am about to drive back home."
I tell him while I place the note inside my bag.
"Okay. Talk to you later?"
"Yeah. Bye!"
"Bye."
He is so sweet. Really. The more I talk to him the more I realize that. Not having heard of him in three days made me think that he just wasn't that interest in me. But he knew my locker. He was watching me all these days and I just hadn't noticed him.
I start driving back home and I try to concentrate on the road and not him. I turn on the radio that is playing Ed Sheeran and I can't do anything else but sing along to all these beautiful lyrics. That one, Tenerife Sea, is my favorite of his song.
When I arrive at home, I call Tom from the car to come and help me with all these bags. After a few minutes I see him coming out the door with his friend Jason and then there is and someone else. It is Alex. Oh my god! Why is Alex with my brother?
I get out of the car trying to hide my shock and walk towards them.
"Hey everyone! Are you a friend of Toms?"
