"Come in!"
I reply on a knock on my door that distracts me of my daydreaming. A girl opens the door and I go towards her.
"Hello! I am Anne."
"Hey... It's Charlotte. Nice to meet you. Are you our new roommate?"
"Yes. Come in."
I tell her and she comes in sitting in the armchair by the door and I sit back on my bed.
"Are you from America?"
"Yeah, from North Carolina."
"I haven't been there. How is it like?"
"It's very nice actually. It's a small town. It's by the sea which I love."
"Do you love the sea? Me too. But here in England we don't really go swimming. You know because of the weather."
"Yeah... So, the other girl that stays here?"
"Vanessa. We are friends since forever. She is really nice. You'll like her."
I smile to her words and she takes a look around my room.
"You haven't put anything up yet."
"I just got here like two hours ago... I haven't even unpacked yet."
"Do you want me to help you?"
"Yeah. That would be great!"
I say and she helps me put the big suitcase on my bed after putting her curly hair up in a bun only leaving a few strands falling down on each side of her head.
We take out the clothes and hang them in the closet. There are a lot of hangers fortunately so most of my clothes get hung up. We fold what's left and place them in the few drawers that are inside the closet.
"I think we are done."
She says as she looks inside my closet.
"Yeah. Thank you. There are a few things left but I'll put them in later."
"It's dinner time. Let's go together. Vanessa got here five minutes ago so we'll meet her there."
"Alright, but give me a few minutes to change. I am all day in these clothes."
I say to her, realizing that I should have showered but I was so tired to even that.
"Of course. I'll wait for you downstairs in the living room."
"See you there in 5."
I tell her and she leaves closing the door behind her.
I change into a pair of jeans and a white top. I throw on a burgundy cardigan and put on my converse. I take my phone and my key before heading downstairs. Entering the living room, I see Charlotte along with Mrs. Evans and a boy."Hello."
I say when I enter their circle interrupting their conversation.
"Hello Anne. Is everything alright? Did you unpack?"
"Yeah everything is fine. Charlotte helped me actually."
I say and Mrs. Evans smiles to Charlotte before saying goodnight to us and leaving.
"Oh! I didn't introduce you. This is Mark. He is in our class."
Charlotte says and I give my hand to Mark introducing myself.
