I wake up by the sunlight that comes through my curtains. I turn to my nightstand to take my phone thinking that today is the day that I finally won my alarm clock. But no, it isn't. It is 8:30! Why did no one wake me up?
I get up fast trying to make sure I won't miss and my second class because I have already missed my first. I rush to my bathroom washing my face and brushing my teeth. After I am done I put on a pair of jeans that hang on my chair and pick out a white top from my closet. I don't bother doing my makeup. I just put on some mascara and blush and take my bag and a flannel shirt. I go downstairs put on my shoes and go out start walking to school while putting my hair into a ponytail.
I arrive at school by 9:10 and I have missed and my second class in which I don't even bother going late. I go towards the soccer field and sit on the stands taking out my notebook. I want to proof read an essay that I wrote for my English class that I have next. While I am reading, I notice someone sitting two seats next to me. I turn to look who it is but I don't know him. He is either new or has been walking unnoticeable all these years in High School.
"Hey!"
"Hey!"
I say to him giving him a smile.
"You were late too, huh?"
"Yes unfortunately. It seems like my alarm decided I needed a couple more hours of sleep today."
"Really? Maybe you never put it... It happens to me every time."
"I doubt that."
I say taking out my phone from my bag realizing that he is right. I look at him with a feeling sorry for myself look.
"I was right, wasn't I?"
He says while coming and sitting next to me and I nod.
"I am Alex."
"I am Anne. Nice to meet you."
"Nice meeting you too, Anne."
I rush at my class because I think I will miss this one too. I get in last and thankfully the teacher isn't here yet. I take my sit next to the girls trying to breathe normally because I was running.
"Where were you?"
Aria asks me.
"I forgot to put my alarm."
I say while taking out my notebook.
"What did I miss?"
"They gave us a whole lot of assignments."
Aria says to me and I nod.
"I'll give them to you later."
Eva says and I am glad because I am too embarrassed to go ask the teachers. It is only the first week and I missed two classes.
Once the teacher is inside, he comes by our desks and takes our essays before starting reading from the book. I can't concentrate. I can't help but think about Alex. He was very nice. And talkative. Well, less talkative than me. I had a really nice time. We talked that much that we almost missed this class too. All I could think and look while we were talking, was his eyes. He had amazing light brown eyes.
I walk back home when I hear a car horn. I turn to find my brother. I walk towards the car and get in.
"Hey"
"Hey... Where were you this morning?"
"What do you mean? You guys didn't wake me up."
I tell him giving him an angry look.
