I wake up from Emma saying my name while I feel a push on my shoulder.

"Anne. It's time for your medication."

I hear her say, sounding sleepy.

"What time is it?"

"It's 7 in the morning. Take that and I'll you a bottle of water."

She says and she hands me a pill before taking a new bottle of water from my desk and handing it over.

"How are you feeling?"

"Better. I think the fever is gone."

"I know, I checked your forehead before I woke you. You seem tired though."

"I feel tired. Did he...?"

"No... he didn't call. I called him too but it was turned off. Don't worry. Jack will find him."

"I hope so. I need to talk to him."

I say, trying to hold the tears that have started coming back.

I get up going towards the window and look outside. Everything is covered in fresh white snow.

"It snowed!"

"Yeah, it started last night around 11. Jack wanted to wake you but I didn't let him."

She says and I turn to face her, smiling at her.

"Thank you Em. For everything. You have been by my side since the first day I got here."

"Will you ever stop thanking me? We are friends. Friends stay by each other's side no matter what."

She says smiling and she gets closer, hugging me.

"Now... I've got to go get ready. You are staying here according to nurse's orders."

"We don't have any classes today, right?"

I ask her as she goes by the door.

"No classes today. I'll go get breakfast and I'll bring you yours."

"Okay. Thanks!"

I say and she leaves, closing the door behind her.

I sit on my bed and I take my phone on my hands. I call Joe, but nothing. His phone is turned off. I want to text him but I don't know what to write. Even if he picks up my call, what am I supposed to say?

I hear a knock on my door and then it slightly opens. I feel my heart racing, hoping it's Joe.

"Can I come in? Are you properly dressed?"

I hear Jack saying from the other side of the door.

"Yes Jack, come in!"

I say and he comes in with a big brown bag on his hands.

"Good morning. Are you feeling better?"

"Yeah. Fever is gone, but I feel tired."

"I figured. I brought breakfast."

He says and he opens the bag, taking out food and placing it on my desk.

"You shouldn't have. Emma is bringing me breakfast later."

"I'll text her not to. Croissant or pound cake?"

"Pound cake."

I say and he hands me over a foil wrapped plate.

"Did you talk to him?"

"No... But I did something better. I found him."

"Really?"
