I take my bag and head downstairs to meet Emma for breakfast. I woke up before my alarm today which made me happy because I am not a morning person.

"Good morning!"

I say when I am out distracting her from her phone

"Morning. How did you wake up before me?"

"I really don't know. Maybe it's because you were studying till midnight."

"Yeah...it's probably that."

"I love this weather. It's not chilly not cold and the smell of rain is always around."

"It's called autumn darling. And I love it as well. What did you want to talk about last night?"

"I... I talked to Joe."

"What about?"

"Well two nights ago I was a mess after talking with my mum about something and I went out for a walk. He was there and he saw me crying."

-Oh my God. Are you alright?"

"I am now. It's just that I needed someone to talk to and he was there. So, I told him stuff about my past. Sad things mostly.

She is looking at me with a worrying face and I feel really bad that I told Joe and not her.

"Is everything alright?

-For now, it is. I'd like to tell you about it though."

She looks at me with a smile and pats my shoulder with her hand.

"Of course, Anne. You can tell me anything."

"There is something else too..."

"Hit me!"

"Joe asked me to go to London with him on Sunday."

"Wait, what?"

"And I kind of said yes. Though I have started having second thoughts about it."

"Why? You should go!"

"Is this the same Emma who warned me to stay away from Joe?"

"It is. But he is showing a lot of interest Anne. I think that it would be a mistake not to explore this. And of course, I am here. Don't worry no one is going to hurt you."

"Are you my protector or something?"

I say in between laughing and she starts laughing as we enter the dining hall.

"You owe that to Joe. And of course, the fact that I like you plays a big part."

She says as we go towards the buffet to get our breakfast.

I run towards the library because it has started raining again. I need to return the book I borrowed the other day.

I get in and go towards the front desk.

"Hello."

"Hello. How can I help you?"

The middle-aged woman behind the desk asks me politely.

"I came to return this book."

I say taking it out of my bag and placing it on the desk.

"Pride and Prejudice. My favorite. Give me a minute darling."

She says and she starts typing on her computer.

"Here we meet again."

I hear a familiar someone behind me and turn around.
