==========
I stared at the woman in front of me. It seemed like my voice box wasn't working, I couldn't speak.
The last time I had seen the woman, she had blonde hair, but then I suddenly remembered it was just a wig.
"Hi.." She whispered, staring down at me. Still, with no ability to speak, I stared right up at her, still taking in the fact that she was standing right here at my door.
"Honey, who's at the door?" I heard my mother yell.
"U-uh, I- uh-" was all I managed to say. I was too quiet though, so my mother didn't hear my response.
"Penny, I swear to God-"
She was cut off by the woman at the door.
"You're-you're-?" She started. Marina nodded slowly with a gentle smile, letting my mother know that she really was Marina Diamandis.
My mother sighed deeply, and I backed away from the door, motioning Marina to come in.
"Do-do you, want to have a little privacy with..Penny?" My mother asked.
"Yes, thank you," Marina said as my mother left the room.
I sat down on the couch slowly, with Marina doing the same thing but on the opposite side.
She took in a deep breath, and let it out.
"Hi Penny," she said in a soft but gentle voice.
I felt like I was an orphan meeting my new mother. Marina kept her eyes focused on mine, as if if she just took one tiny glance away from me, I would burn in the pits of hell.
I still couldn't find my voice, so she sighed before she started talking again.
"Look, what your sister said," she started. "wasn't true. At all. And I'm really sorry,"
"Sorry for what?" I whispered, breaking the contact with her, and now staring at the floor. "You didn't do anything,"
"I caused all this drama for you. If I just knew that-"
"Marina stop." I interrupted her. Her expression was now confused.
"You can stop apologizing, I get it. I know it's not your fault. My sister did all of this," I told her, now facing her.
She nodded for me to go on.
"But," I stopped for a second.
She was confused again.
"But what?" She said nervously.
"I just don't think we could be friends anymore," I whispered slowly. "Once the glass is broken, it cannot be fixed," I said metaphorically.
She stood up. "Of course it can! Ever heard of super-glue?" She said, hoping that she got my metaphor.
"Marina, I've never heard, or seen, any type of glue that can put glass back together like a puzzle. That's only in shows and cartoons," I assured her.
She stared right into my eyes. "But were not glass. Were humans, and were strong enough to be fixed,"
Did she not get it? Honestly, how is it possible to keep a friendship with a small 13 year old girl when your constantly touring the world?
"Guess what? Humans can also make mistakes, and sometimes not fix them. Some things are unfixable. And sometimes, some things aren't meant to be fixed, like glass! Instead, when you touch it, or in this case go back to it, it cuts you and warns you to never go back to it again. Then, it goes to the trash, because it's useless now. It's useless Marina! There's no way I can deal with everything and everyone," I said sharply.
I didn't even bother to tell my mother and sister to stop eavesdropping. It didn't matter anymore.
Marina scoffed. "And to think, I wrote that whoole song for you! You don't even want to take another chance? I'm disappointed in you Penny. I know your a fighter, but this time I guess you backed out," she said before leaving the house.
I stared at where she was last at.
Never have I thought I would have an actual fight with my idol. Well, 2 fights. Damn.
And there she went, away from my life, again. I had to do that anyway, I was moving to my grandmother's house.
I still had no idea where she lived.
"Hey," Theresa said as she and my mother walked into the room. "It will be alright,"
"Whatever," I muttered before heading to my room and slamming the door shut.
