Chapter 7: To tired to care i'm already in the hospital.

Today is different, I can feel it. I didn't dream about solitude or eating people or evil trees, I dreamt about meadows and beauty. there were no poppies int he meadow.The day felt calm, and I woke up to Will and Parker at my side. Unfortunately, the calmness ended when I notice mr, Cheng and Justin across from the hospital bed. " she's awake" Justin whispered. "Hey" will runs his fingers through my hair. I didn't like it, it felt like he was being a real boyfriend, and even though he is my boyfriend, I wouldn't call him that. Nevertheless, comfort was needed. " what happened?" I asked. I look down at my legs, covered in hives. " Why didn't you tell anyone you were allergic to poppies!" Parker asked. I sit up in the bed, " I didn't tell anyone because I don't have an allergy" I explain. " maybe your supernatural" mr. Cheng guesses. We all look at him in a confused manner. Is he drunk? " I don't think it's a time to be joking right now" Parker finally spoke. " I'm not joking, do you know your ancestry" mr, Cheng looks at me in a serious way. How is this even an option. " I don't really know" I said. " well, you could have died" Will said. " I guess I'll be more careful next time" I start to get up out of my bed but Justin is quick to stop me. " let go of my hand" I say. " you, need to rest, your not leaving till you are fully treated and your hives are gone" He stated. " well your not in charge of what I can and can't do" I push his hand off me. " as unfortunate as I'd like to say, I agree with him" Will told me, " aren't you the least bit scared that you might have not survived to see today?". I guess Will was right but it was the first week of school, I can't skip college. " what about school" I asked mr.cheng. " your assignments will be sent here till you recover" mr. Cheng said. This sucks, I hate being immobilized. " Im sorry Scarlet, but I have to go teach another class in five minutes, get better" Mr. Cheng leaves the room. Things would start getting awkward, Will and Justin in the same room together.....

None of us knew what to say to avoid the inevitable. " I have to go" Will lies. " stay... he can leave" I whisper. " I have to go" Will repeats and then leaves. Justin stood there in silence. " I wanted Will to stay" I admit. " well he's gone, but I'm not" Justin dragged a rusty metal seat from across the room next to my bed. Parker was confused so she let the cards place as they may and watched us. I didn't tell him to keep going, but I didn't tell him to stop. I just sat there, perplexed, and watched for his next move. " I don't mind missing a couple classes, plus I might put my free time to good use" he said. I rolled my eyes, " if you think I need your comfort, I'll do hjust fine with Parker " I said adjusting my blanket. Parker has a y disappointing face on, " as much as I want to be here and laze out with you, I have to go to class" Parker said in a sad tone. I understand what she was saying, I would probably do the same thing. " ya, of course" I said. I didn't expect everyone to just wait with me to heal, they have to carry on with college.. duh. But what I especially didn't expect was for Justin to wait... especially Justin. " are you sure you just want to watch me sleep for like a week?" I asked him. " I'd rather watch you sleep then listen to one of Mr.patricks lectures" Justin laughs. I smile awkwardly and then scoot myself back into my bed.

I lay there, Parker leaves, and Justin and I were staring at each other. " I brought you to the hospital" he said, " and saved you when you fell and almost hit your head on a rock". " oh" I replied quietly, " thanks". I nestled In my hard pillow and closed my eyes. My legs felt like hell, body felt like hell, but at least my heart didn't.
