Sigh. Weight. I'm so sick of people bashing people about it. There are six BILLION people on the planet at any given time. They are not all going to be 'Greek Gods and Goddesses.'
I love diversity in literature. I get tired of reading stories or comments where characters who are overweight are bashed. Why can't fat/thick/curvy/voluptuous/robust characters be just as loved as everyone else? They are always picked on or the butt of the jokes or some cheesy side character or worse...the bad guy.
If you look at art and photography from all over the globe since the beginning of drawing you will see people of all shapes and sizes. In many cultures, being curvy or fat is considered beautiful.
On the other hand, I hate when I read a story and the character is 'chubby' and they are 5'8 160lbs. Not even close. I'm 5'6 and as of yesterday, when I ate that donut, I weighed 180. I'm chubby.
A chart like the one above helps to more accurately describe a character. It makes people who are chubby in real life be less annoyed by inaccurate descriptions of body type. BTW someone 5'8 160lbs is underweight.
