There are some ageist ass mofos on wattpad.
What am I whining about?
All the characters people write about are in their freaking teens! Like teens are the only ones that exist and have problems.
WRONG!
I would love to go back in time to my teens and just whine about shitty classes, crappy lunch, and the douchebags that disrupt class all while hiding out in my room, eating my secret stash of snacks, fooling around on my electronic devices.
Oh...I did all that already. Minus the electronic devices cuz I was born in the dark ages when computers cost as much as a car and what was a laptop?
I want to read stories about college kids starting out in the real world and having their rose colored goggles smashed to tiny pieces. Thirty year olds advancing to the next stage and realizing you have to work to keep yourself good looking. Forty year olds going through midlife crises (like me!) Or sixty year olds finding themselves again after death or retirement. I want to see characters questioning and changing their views on morality, religion, race, and sexuality. Not just being bullied and trying to get laid or get wasted at some party.
You know...DIVERSITY. Teens aren't the only humans that exist, have angst, or have sex. SURPRISE! And you don't have to be older or a minority or the opposite gender to write about those things. Writers create believable stories and worlds. Stretch your brain muscle.
Oh...I know teens do the do and all but it's a little cringey for me to hear dirty porno things come out the mouths of fifteen year olds. Like, your little ass needs to go watch some Spongebob and study for the PSAT. Worry about graduating and getting your own place so you don't have to sneak around to screw.
