You get a notification that a story you've been wrapped up in has a new update. You grab your drink and snack and hunker down to get into it cuz it's gonna be sooooo good and you've waited sooooo long. You crank up the book, settle in and then....

Ok. You suck it up. Let it go. Move on. Then you get another update. Go through the excitement process again. You're cranked. You're jazzed. And thennnnnn....
Another fucking author's note. In fact, by now there are more author's notes than chapters. Each one promising they are going to provide an update next time and next time each one offering an excuse why they haven't just written a new chapter.
I'm of the mindset that issues with updating (punishment/writer's block/computer died/no cable/family matters) can all be put in your conversation feed or at the beginning/end of a new chapter.
But that's just me.
