You're reading along. The story has got you hooked. The author hasn't posted anything in a hot minute but you're patiently waiting cuz it's a good story and you're willing to wait for a quality story.
Then you get the notification of an update.
Only...It's not an update.
It's a plug for a new book. The current book isn't even finished nor has it been updated in some time and they are taking up space in the current story to advertise another story.
I wonder how far into that story will they get before the same thing happens again...and again...and again. I've started unfollowing authors and deleting books for this. Their commitment just isn't there and I dislike getting vested just to be disappointed.
Now there is nothing wrong with plugging a new story. But it makes more sense to do it at the end of a completed work. Keeps people coming back to your page and your works. But to plug a new story when the current isn't finished and you haven't made any new chapters? Seems unfair to the readers, does it not?
