Darry pov
It's the hospital, Johnny was emitted to the hospital and I was on the emergency card. Before I can explain Aubrey's out of the house and in the car, dally following close behind. I drive all of us in my old pick up and we get there in no time.

"Johnny Cade" Aubrey says quickly

"I'm sorry only fami-" the nurse says and gets cut off by Aubrey switchblade

"Were the only family he has" she says switchblade inches from her neck.

"204" she says and Aubrey closes her blade

"Damn, you are like me" dally comments and she giggles. We enter the room to a pale, Johnny with a scar trailing down his cheek. Aubrey gasps and runs to his side.

"B-bre?" Johnny questions and she nods furiously

"Y-yes Johnnycakes, I'm here for you" she says holding back tears. He grabs her hand "what happen Johnnycakes?" dally asks

"S-socs" is all he can muster out. Dallys eyes become fiery and a smile spreads across his face,

"Don't worry Johnny, I'll get them back" and dally busts out the room, he is gonna cause some problem.

"D-Darry" he calls out and I rush over too him "yes little buddy" I say

"Darry, please don't let my parents come" he says and a tear escapes

"I'll protect you, Johnnycakes" I say and wrap my arms around Aubrey.

We stay over night. I make a bed for Aubrey an me.

I wake up and Aubrey's still awake, she singing to Johnny.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey, you don't know how much I love you, don't take my sunshine away." she says and a year falls. I get up and she buries her head in my chest.

"Sleep, we have work tommorow" I say and kiss her head. She nods and kisses my chest.

"Darry, I worry for him" she says

"Me too baby," I say "you would be a good mom, the way you take care of Johnny" I say and she smiles,

"You would make a great father" she says and I smile. We fall asleep and I think about Aubrey's comment, and I know soon, it will be us.
